Default Tire fitment or what is needed to fit the tire size you use?

I'm just in the process to decided which tires i would use for my t-rex, i would love to have some bigger tires than stock. (Something a round 130mm)
Measuring around i would guess a 130mm instead the stock 120mm tire would fit without any modification but not quit sure.

So my questions:
1. Which size of tires will fit max without modification (2.2 or 1.9)

2. Which is the max tire size you use on your trx-4 (2.2 or 1.9) and which modifications are needed

3. which is a good tire option for the used size (>130mm)

Just to have an image i mounted the 2.2 hyrax of little betty (way to big) but i like some bigger tires than stock. (I know not scale but i like to have bigger tires with out modifying the body).

I know we have a wheel fitment thread but no tire fitment thread

Hey, I put tires on all those wheels.

4.75 inch/120 mm tires are the biggest I would go without cutting on the stock body. The Proline Krawler tires have been great performers on my TRX4 and only occasionally rub the fenders at extreme ends of suspension travel. There are no shortage of good 1.9 tires in that size from Proline, Pitbull, Voodoo, & RC4WD.

I am running the 2.2 Mudslingers from RC4WD on Vanquish wheels with 350 sized hubs. I did not have to modify the body at all. Threw them on and just drove. They perform great and u really like the way they fill out the look.

1.9 Gmade rims and hyrax were no issue. those are like a 40" scale equivalent ive been told. there is some rubbing at extremes but the fenders flex and it doesn't do any harm. the offset of the gmade rims is stock or maybe slightly narrower.

edit.. ok his tires are way bigger lol. I thought he asked about 1.9s

doesn't matter if 1.9 or 2.2 just a little bigger than stock. pic are the hyrax 2.2 (150mm) way too big. i'm looking around 130mm 5"-5.25" but can't find any. 120mm and than is a gap till 140mm.

mudsligger looks nice and will give 4mm + compared to stock it's an option for 2.2 thx

the 1.9 hyrax unfortunatly are 120mm if they where 130mm i would buy them love my 2.2 option if i stay stock size and 1.9 also thx

I'm running 1.9 PitBull Growlers mounted on 2.2 Vanquish wheels and 350slw hubs. I have been very pleased with the results.

Inspector86 has the best wheel and tire combo I've seen on a TRX-4.

I'm venturing down the same path but I also want to experiment with some 4.25 OD wheel sizes. I've got Pitbull Braven Ironside and have already received Proline BF Goodrich K02s that I wanna try out on a 1.9.

looks cool. do you just stretch the 1.9 over the 2.2 rims or is there some mods on the tire to do? which od is the result? and which foams you use in these?

I installed CI 2.2 Double Deuce 5.0" firm foams in the 1.9 Pitbull Growler Alien tires, insert the wheel can in the foam, then just stretch the tire bead over the wheel. Spraying the tire with dry silicone first makes the assembly process MUCH easier. The 2.2 wheel had no effect on the OD of the tire. Tire was 4 5/8" before mounting and 4 5/8" after. My LHS said that the tire might split but the Pitbull Alien rubber is so stretchy that splitting is not even a remote possibility.

I'm now down to the following options:
1.9": pro-line hyrax foam 2 stage 1.9 from proline or keep the stock ones with different rims and foams (no glue which one)
2.2": proline chisels (only 130mm i found) with proline 2 stage foam any one run these? how would they perform on a trx-4? or the mudsligger like the look (specially for loose ground a good option i think)

still a newb to this so any thoughts appreciated. which will be the choice of some more experienced out of the options. more trail than crawl but better crawling will help trailing here in my area.
edit:
i just found more options i hate decisions as more i search as more i find....

Did you ever run the Braven Ironsides? And if so how did you like them?
Thinking seriously of them for a 4.19 diameter to meet Sorrca class-1 rules on a vaterra ascender build.

I have 1.9 Hyrax, 1.9 SSD steelies and .475 SLW hubs waiting for me when I get home. I'll have pics when it's all mounted.
