| New Dravtech Servo/Battery Tray...
It looks like Dravtech has quietly added a new servo and battery tray to his Shapeways store. This is exactly the positioning I was hoping somebody would make. It's a copy of the SCX10.2 front end layout which I also converted my SCX10.1 to for comping. I love this layout. I'll stack the servo winch on the frame rail behind the steering servo after this plate is installed. I have one on the way and can't wait to get it. https://www.shapeways.com/product/Q7...ionId=63476563 |

I'm new to all this... Looks like it relocates the battery to in front of the steering servo which is also moved forward? And I assume it would have to use a smaller battery? |

the servo appears to be rotated and moved up a bit. That looks interesting, though like many new items its noted "this is still a prototype so order on your own risk". |

I have one in my hands, It is a nice unit. I haven't installed it yet. The battery mount seems a bit "flimsy" hopefully it holds up.

| Re: New Dravtech Servo/Battery Tray... In my SCX10 with this layout I could easily run a 2200mah 3S lipo. Even my 5000mah 3s fit but I never need that kind of run time and that much weight on one side makes the rig handle funny.

| Re: New Dravtech Servo/Battery Tray... Might be nice, my Hudy aluminum servo horn on Hitec HS-7950TH is hitting the steering tierod on compression and loosened the horn mounting screw. Quote:

It looks like the front of the battery tray has a a tab on the bottom that clips into a rod, I just cant figure out what rod. If you go to the Shapeways page you can click the 3D image and rotate it to see this clipping point on the bottom. Or maybe the holes in the front near the logo mount to something?

So does the battery mount to the side of the servo I assume? Does moving the servo to this position negatively affect the steering or anything? |

Doesn't anyone ever drive downhill? :p That is cool though, I don't think I could fit my trail battery in there without getting ontop of the motor but plenty others would fit |

Still, surprised the arm at the front with the servo screws isn't connected to the rest of the plate. Looks like it would be susceptible to flex. | |
