I didn't realize the poll would only let you vote for only one option, so let use know in a post if you think we should offer multiple kits for different wheel bases and what they should be. Thanks for your help!

Honestly...kits will sell. Kits in both stock and 12.3" would be most ideal.

I just want Lunsford to sell links separate by length again. I can calculate what I need and miss these.

This! Both stock and 12.3" kits would sell. Stock for the obvious reason and 12.3" because that has become the "standard" for crawling bodies.

I vote for both stock and 12.3" kits but I just want to shorten the rear links not front. I would also like to see an adjustable tie rod and drag link.

I agree with stock and 12.3 inch wheelbase kits.

Turnbuckles for the steering links and panhard would be cool because those often require slight adjustments and being able to quickly tweak steering geometry or toe with a wrench would be awesome.

Thanks for the input guys!!!! I have been running Kelly's 1/8 scale turn buckles on my rigs for a couple years. They are 4mm dia and have worked fine for me. So question is do you want the stock 5mm dia, or for a little better clearance in tighter areas, will the 4mm link size work for you?
Please keep the info coming!

I think 4mm would be better for clearance and should hold up fine

4mm screws into Traxxas plastic ball ends without drilling the ends? 5mm would require slight drilling of plastic rod ends? Beefier is nice, but I haven't bent the 4mm Lunsfords on my Ascenders.
Yes, they would screw right into the traxxas rod ends. Just like the ones we have been using on our ascenders.

.3 inch or about 8mm combined front and rear, half that is .15 inch per end which is about 4mm per rod or 2mm per rod end is well within a turnbuckle adjustability threshold, why not make a set that can adjust to 12 or 12.3 in one kit? As long as you have the threads for it. A nice heavy duty rod end with a deep shank should accommodate that.

Thanks for the input, a couple thoughts here. The difference between the 324mm wheel base and the shorter 12.3, 313 is 11mm so I think we are going to split difference between the front and rear. It would be fairly easy to shorten the wheel base to 12.0 by using Revo ends instead of the stock end. Guys have been doing it for a number of years on comp rigs with good results. Kelly and I can talk about it tomorrow.

Professor Codyboy, what is a lunsford and why are its links worthy of your time and improvised market research?

Lunsford have made titanium tie rods since the early days of RC, they are well known and trusted by many many racers. They make high quality products, right up there with MIP.

What would the 12.3" links use for rod ends? Revo or stock TRX4 or something else?

LOL
Kelly Lunsford has been making Titanium screws, links and other parts since 1988. I was his very first customer back when the RC10 was the most advanced dirt racing buggy out there. We have been friends ever since, and he has sponsored me all those years! His titanium is the highest quality you can buy on the market. Don't be fooled just because you hear or read the word titanium that the product is high quality! Kelly has been buying titanium for so long that only he and maybe a few other venders can even get the quality titanium he uses. So having said that, I have been trying for quite awhile to get him to reenter the crawler market so this effort is vary worthy of my time.

I'm pretty sure it would be best to use the stock TRX-4 rod ends. They seem to be right up there as far as quality.

I would suggest only changing the rear links for different wheelbases. Traxxas designed the truck so the rear shock towers move to fit the wheelbase the panhard and steering servo mounts do not so the geometry would change possibly with some undesirable side effects. It is much like the SCX10ii where the front suspension is meant to be left unchanged and all wheelbase adjustments are done with rear links.

Thanks for that input, I considered doing that, but I thought it might shift the weight center on the chassis back a little to much. That would make putting kits together a little easier.

Couldn't agree more. I have mine changed to 12.4" right now with stock Traxxas parts. Moving the front is about impossible without some more handy users - not a typical "Traxxas" style upgrade anyhow.

Also, while the stock rod ends seem longer Revo Rods, they aren't from what I remember while shortening mine (I prefer Revo's by far over the new ones). I will review again tonight though. It appears the stock "longer" ends thread over the thick section of the link like the Jato end to cover it, but if you thread to the stop, they measure the same as a Revo threaded to its stop. I have extra links and rod ends (Revo and TRX4) I can test and measure.
