Interesting but I see no reference anywhere that says anything about turn signals, reverse lights and brake lights. Hope they have those too otherwise I will be looking for something else.

Personally i could live without the turn signals. reverse lights could be a deal breaker though. either way im glad to see traxxas has come out with the kit!

from the wiring diagram and the pics. i assume it's not a light controller just a power unit. so you just have all lights on or off.

only interessting part for me are the rock lights, but before i order these i try to make my own.

but how does this controller than get the steering (turn lights) and throttle (break) signal? and the
3-in-1 wire harness operates all lights with a single connection between body and chassis
has only 2 cables only on off.

Thanks for the heads up ScoJac

It seems like the tail lights only have a singe light for each cluster, or is there more?

I'm trying to find pictures of the 1:1 with the lights on in back to compare these to.

I'm surprised to see a licensed Light bar from Rigid.

I just got notification that RPP has the complete kits in stock, the individual parts aren't in yet though. RPP sells them for a bit less than going through Traxxas BTW

Tough to decide now whether to sell off my nip attack kit and buy this or just make some rock lights myself and pick up a bar. I do like that the attack has the scale lighting options (turn, reverse, brake etc) but definitely want rock lights too. I'm impressed with the fit and finish of this Traxxas kit though, much less mess and prob high cg weight than the my trick rc kit.

Well, I ordered the complete Traxxas TRX4 kit and I have the following observations.

1. Headlights/taillights are disappointing. The headlights are bright but they do not have any LED's installed in either the turn signal lenses front/rear or the backup lens.
2. Light Bar is nice and bright. Installs neatly and has a hi/lo switch.
3. Rock Lights are nice and bright. There are two light clusters per wheel and they light up under the truck very well.

Looking at the extra ports on the power supply module included with this kit I wouldn't be surprised if they plan to sell add on reverse/blinker lights. Probably with their own lighting controller to give scale function options.

They do sell them separately on the Traxxas site. I ordered a set and waiting for them to arrive this week.

Anyone got the package? Would like to know the voltage input to the light bar? As lots of drive got the aftermarket lights already, but we would like the get the lightbar with our own power supply. Thanks in advanced!

So I saw a video of someone's install of this kit and I was shocked by the huge hole they cut in their roof to run the wires for the light bar and I though I would show how I avoided cutting such a large and obvious hole.

I separated the cage above the windshield

there's a notch in the end that lets it rotate a tiny bit

I picked out a spot under the cage that would be less obvious

to get it through the small hole I de-pinned the plugs

to de-pin pull the tab back on each wire as you gently tug it loose

Heres the view from above

and the front

Some black heatshrink or something to cover the blue wires would clean it up even more

The light bar for me is a must because the headlights are a bit on the dim side, the rock lights look promising though

Each output on the power supply is putting out 2.83 Volts

So out of the box it does not have brake lights or reverse lights?

There are static brake lights in the back, no reverse lights. None of the lights are dynamic though.

Expensive, but the plastic pieces and LEDs look to be high quality. You can't say that for most of the RC light kits out there. And the fact that it's a direct fit will be great for the Traxxas target audience.

That's unfortunate, as tempting as this is being a "traxxas" part knowing the quality, the lack of desired features is leading me to wait, or search elsewhere.
