Question Cheap metal driveshafts???

Looking at the underside of my rig. I've noticed my stock driveshafts have taken a beating and should be replaced soon. I can pick up a new stock set for $8. I'm also seeing some cheap metal ones when i search on Google. Has anyone tried any of these? Are they worth the $17- $25 for them or should i just get another stock set till i can drop the $$$ on a crazy priced $70 set? Thanks for the advice. Have a great day!

I have a set of these on the way:

They have a pretty scale looking design, the universal joints tend to be stronger than CV style joints, and the shafts are splined instead of hex or D shaped (stronger, less slop). They seem to check all the boxes for good shafts but I'll have to see how testing goes.

I went the SSD route for my Defender. I've heard of length issue with the front hitting the t-case but I assume that's on the Bronco idk. Anyway... I haven't had any issues at all. I did use some graphite to insure that they moved in/ out without binding as they weren't as smooth initially as the stock plastic ones.

$29 front/ $39 rear so I guess they weren't as cheap as I'd thought.

I used this set and work perfectly, just make sure u get the right length for rear for either 12.8, or 12.3 wheelbase front is same length on both.

I got these YR's on ebay for $30 for the set. They're made for the Defender so I had to cut down the center section on the rear shaft.

I greased mine, then cut a couple of small lengths of silicone tubing and slipped over the splines to seal and center things.

these two points should be on the same line otherwise the output would not be in sync with the input..

Does it surprise you that a company that doesn't actually give a crap about RC didn't bother to install their product properly in their own pictures?
