Thats the one i will be purchasing, Can use it with the 5ch receiver on the trx4 and also bind it to my ascender bronco and soon to have ascender f100 when that come out about the same time as the radio !

One issue with the 5c: After you buy the radio, for additional Rx, you're either overpaying for a 6 channel ($80, ouch!) that has a channel you can't use and AVC that's pointless in a scaler, or getting 4 channel radios that can't see the radios full potential.

meanwhile, Flysky will sell you a 6ch Rx for less than $10.

Receiver pricing is a huge upside to the FlySky system. It's so much cheaper than my Futaba stuff.

IIRC the Hobby king "orange" receivers are compatible and ~$14 for a 3 channel.

As already mentioned, the orange RXs from Hobbyking work with Spektrum and they're cheap.

I prefer the Micro Futaba RXs. They're ~$40 before coupons on Tower. They have no antenna so they are great for a scaler. Not sure what the range is but I'm rarely more than 100 or so feet away from my trucks anyway.

Back to the futaba 4pls.
I know many of us were using those with comp rigs and now I am so invested in my 4pls with other models, that hate to just give up. Soooo. Could one use a wantasummit with this, and accomplish the same goals? Could use use channel mixing to work out something with a 6 channel receiver and a 4pls?

Surely someone smarter than me has figured out a hack. #savethe4PLS. #Setthe4PLSfreeeeeee

There is another thread here where they used a Traxxas T-Lock for the diffs, only you will also need a servo reverser for one diff since the servos are not facing the same direction.

That's where I got mine. The hacking process is easy if you feel like doing it yourself. There's a million places to find that information.

Here's a great video on setting up a hacked GT3C for the TRX4. I followed this video and everything worked perfectly the first shot. Been pretty happy with the GT3C after using it for 2 comps.

Which receiver do you use with the hacked fly sky ?

I'm using the Spektrum DX5 Rugged 5-Channel. I'm liking it.
You'd still need an external remote for your winch. Or you can use a Y cable and lock both diffs at once on one channel.

It's pricey but you can setup 20 cars on it!

Currently in stock at amazon.

I have a DX5 rugged and my son has a DX5C. We use all 5 channels and they worked out really well for us.

I’m looking for alternatives as well for my trx6 besides that able to lock the diffs and 2 speed but also can control various lightings and winch on the truck.
My first choice is Sanwa SD-6G 4WD but it was discontinued same as the replacement model.
Then I came across this HG 16 channel radio seems exactly what I was needed even have this channel for 4WS preset and toggle switches which I like. But little info out there an receiver is not water proof. They the company that makes the Tamiya Bruiser clone. P/n HG YK002 on eBay anyone here have experience with this radio.?
