| ARB style bumpers?
Hi folks. Which bumpers are you folks going for? I like the ARB style but the RC4WD one looks like it hangs out too much. The Yeah Racing looks a little better. I like the simple SSD bumper but the lack of protection for the front concerns me when I crawl. Any info appreciated. |

I like the SSD wide shield front and rear but these parts are on back order. The Yeah Racing is cool too.

I have the RC4WD ARB Bumper. It does stick out a bit more than the stock bumper. This thing is bombproof when it comes to durability, and the looks are amazing. I do not have a lot of problems crawling (mainly in the trails, not a lot of rock around my area) sure it stabs and digs in and keeps you from hitting lines head on from time to time, but in that case I just backup a little and hit it at a bit of an angle and it's all good. |

I really like that bumper but it looks to be out of stock at RC4WD.

Once I seen it I knew I wanted the RC4WD Gelande Defender bumper (Z-S0853), but knew it had to be modded to fit. Thought about it for a while and finally picked it up. In order for it to work I also picked up the bumper mounts rc4z-s0991 for the RC4WD Trail Finder 2. Had to redrill the holes in the bumpers angle bracket to a width of 43mm in order to slide this bumper into the factory mount......I wanted the bumper at a specific height so the headlamps were not blocked by the bars after a lot of eyeballing, measuring and messing around it's finally on. also mounting the RC4WD Warn winch was a pain in the behind, had to file the depth of the winch mounting plate to fit it just right so the bumper bracket mounting screws caught it perfectly ***(the bumper has holes, the angle bracket has threads and the winch plate has threads...had to screw though both the angle bracket and the winch plate at the same time so they stayed flush and tight tight to each other) Anyways, glad thats done. Looks good and the weight, holy smokes this is getting a bit heavy up front...which is good. The bumper is 7oz/200gr ! Here are a couple more pics for you Let me know if there is any measurements you need as far as where to drill the holes for the universal mounts. | |
