Yes they are.
I am not going to go through all the install of all the goodies, as there are alot of threads showing that already.

Going through the mock up of the proline XJ interior.

It is narrower, and shorter than the Axial body, but the narrower part works out perfect in the end. It gives it the clearance needed for the clips and what nots of the door handle mounting.
And the shorter really does not matter to me because with the tinted windows it is not easy to see.

I am trying to get the body as low as possible to make it all work out correctly.

On the front I cut 2 holes off the bottom of the mount (for wire clearance) and have it as low as it will go.

https://i.lensdump.com/i/ziATz.jpg

The rear mount also has 2 holes cut off of it, and there are 4 holes exposed below the mount for the final position.
Also you would not need to cut out the wheel wheel opening on the interior like I did, it is not necessary.

For everything to fit correctly, I had to flip the fender well cross braces over so they dip down, instead of raise up.

https://i.lensdump.com/i/zitV0.jpg

And also cut off the rear posts that stiffen the back of the defender body.

How did you turn the cross braces? Did you just cut them and weld them with a soldering iron or something like that?

I unscrewed them, flipped and turned them 180* and screwed them back on.

The offset is close enough to the same that is works out good.

Aha, I see. And I follow you.. It's not that important to get the "lego"-kind of nipples(sorry, I dont know what to call it in english) into the holes.. Thanks for the tip

No not really, just dont over tighten them, or the head of the screw can pull into the empty space.

Getting the body/interior all mocked up, this is with the mounts up higher than where they ended up.
It works better for battery fitment under the interior ( 5200mah 3s ) but I did not like it this high because of the inner fender to body alignment.
The previous post explained where the mounts ended up.

I trimmed the bottom flare mounting holes off of the front and rear of both the front and rear inner fenders. There is alot of fine tuning to get them to fit this body, at least for the front ones., they need to be narrowed in the front, and alot cut off the front of them.
But I was determined to make them work.

I have more pics of the front inner fender trimming to fit the headlight housings and LED's. I will post them later on in the thread.

This is where the front fitment started, and it worked good until I added in the side pieces, and got the grille installed.
And then alot more got trimmed.

And on to the major trimming to the front of the front fenders to clear the light buckets and leds.

https://i.lensdump.com/i/SWj92.jpg

https://i.lensdump.com/i/SW0vv.jpg

And then it is on to how I am mounting the fender wells without them being screwed to the body.
I made some panels that screw to them, to tie them together, and then the interior and body hold them in place.
The side pieces also help to fill any openings from the body to inner fender difference.
I used the bottom pieces of lexan from the interior, I bent the 90* so they were flat pieces.

https://i.lensdump.com/i/zikOM.jpg

https://i.lensdump.com/i/ziEEA.jpg

I trimmed my flares to give it more of the flat fender look, but if you were to leave the flares as they are it would cover up most of fender well and you would not even really know they are there.

https://i.lensdump.com/i/zi6cQ.jpg

https://i.lensdump.com/i/ziJZa.jpg

And that pretty much sums up the fitting, and mockup of the body/interior/inner fender wells.

For my paint scheme it is Lime Green, Black, and Silver.
I love this color combination, and it is how my 1:1 cheromanchee project will be painted when I am finished with it.
I will be doing a very close replica. Other than the body mod. everything else will be as close as possible, even the decals will match.

And my 1:1 will be all bedliner on the outside with the exception of the silver stripe, that way I can get a clean line between colors .

For placement of my light and winch controllers I made a lexan platform and mounted it to the 2 screw holes that Traxxas left for their light controller, and let the other end rest on the ESC.
I have plasti dipped all boards, and used die electric grease in all the connectors.

I have not taken many pics of this, I will get/ add some more.

I modified the Defender roof rack to work on the XJ, by trimming all of the half round mounts flat, and I cut out the drop down sections plumb with the bottom of the rack. And then glued them in from the top side (if that makes sense) and then finished it off with some black RTV.

It does not look ideal, but will work for now.

https://i.lensdump.com/i/SADOM.jpg

The defender has a flatter roof than the XJ so in the front I used some spacers between the mounts and the body to keep take the flex out of the rack.

To take care of some of the other fitment issues and some fun stuff.
I drilled some new holes in the yeah racing bumper mounts to be able to get it close enough to the body. I will still raise it up just a hair by using the front bumper mount for the rear bumper (they have a different offset) when I can get an axial bumper mount to modify for the front bumper to move it up where it needs to be.

You dont own it until you drilled your first hole in it!

https://i.lensdump.com/i/SA5EK.jpg

If you anyone is wondering why I used the light buckets...... it is because that is to match my 1:1 rig. I am not running factory tail lights.
And now for the reason for the hole.

I loves me some spares partsss...

Some other stuff laying around figured this would work out well.

https://i.lensdump.com/i/SW2gm.jpg

I used another one I found of the small gun cleaner that still had the loop intact. I then twisted it more until the loop was just big enough to fit the screw that holds on the light pod.

I spy with my little eye...

https://i.lensdump.com/i/SW83i.jpg

I used this airsoft pellet and drilled a tight fitting hole so it would actually thread on to the wire. I then used ca let it flash and used another day and put it on. It does not feel like it will come off. Time will tell.

I have found that the walmart wrestling figures are the closest to scale for this size of rig. The trick is to find ones that have clothes on.
I got lucky with this guy, because we have a striking resemblance....well he hs more hair.

And that catches this up with where I am at currently. Other than the couple scale goodies from the Defender.

I have more planned for it, but the big thing for now is to get it out and drive it.
