Dude I think that hardbody turned out great! Nice detailing work! Also wow quite a setup with the mamba x and castle. Where'd you find that Servo? Excited to see you dig into the sport build!

OK, on you're most honorable and respected recommendation ..... I just ordered one of those servos. I broke a gear-tooth in a 32-kg servo yesterday, hope this is a GOOD one.

Nuthin' but luv from here, brother I'll be a big boy. The spec's look GOOD, and the price is just inside my budget (I suppose ...).
I guess we'll both see how they TURN out.
.... but it's all your fault if it craps out.

Haha, I figured out what direction this was takin'..
No stress, I got full confidence in my mate that made my try this one and if it fails I just have to buy another more expensive one later. But my guess is that this is as good as any other servo in this price range, at least..

Ok, so far I haven't broken my rule about not unpacking the Sport until finishing the other bodies..
The Raptor is as good as done, but I've done some bad choises during that build, so it may never be mounted.. I got one who wants to buy it for about $180 US, but I cant sell it.. So I'll have to think about what I'm going to do with it..
But hey, the Defender has made progress! Anyone wants to take a look? Well, here we go!

After the catastrophic paintjob I almost gave up on this one, but now I dont care no more.. So here I've just cut out all the side windows from the OEM body.

Nevermind the silly lines I've been drawing around the doors.. hahaha, just another one of those "I wonder how it would be if I....- stops thinking and just doing - and 5 mins later - Ooooh shiiiit, why didn't I think that through..!!!???

I had to tint the windows tho..

Just a little bit, not totally "murdered out"..

And this is how the bed is turning out..

But I cant have the edges looking like that..

So I opened up Inventor, made a frame and printed it..

And here's the idea..

I need to make some adjustments tho'.. Both on the width and the length of the frame, but I'm for sure on to a working thing here..

Nice job, i knew u could fix it. The tint is just right, not to dark. Very creative on the lip for the bed. Wat about addin some hide-away hooks for bungie straps or cargo net?

Very nice, ailing young canine! You're really making me want to start cutting up my D110. Windows look good too... no doubt not a simple task. Anyway... you're always doing inspiring stuff so I'm always following along. Cheers!

Your very welcome! Insight from others outside the box can be helpful sometimes. Thats y i like all the suggestions n comments lol. Alot of great ideas floatin around on here. I dont remember where i seen the idea but somebody had used paperclips. They had drilled holes in the corners of the bed, bent the paperclip into small loops n they sat down on top of the bed sides. Wen they wanted to use them, the paperclips were able to b lifted up just a bit, but were limited so not to b pulled out. Pretty good idea. Its been awhile since i seen this idea so im not sure where i found it lol

Thanks man.
Yeah, I did a poor masking job so I ended up painting the inside of the windows, haha.. But actually cutting them out and putting lexan on the inside makes it look a lot better than just a flat surface with a square without paint.
So if I'm making any more of these I will always cut out the windows, and I need to find a more accurate way to cut, because the way I'm doing it it doesn't get straight cuts and my fingers are living a very dangerous life..

Did you get a magnetic mounting kit with your raptor hardbody? I have the same one I think, but I can't figure out how the magnetic mounting system works...

Hmmm.. I think not.. I havent actually done any effort to try to fit the body on the chassis yet. Because I think the wheelbase might be a bit too long on the body.. What do you think about the fitment lenghtwise?

Anyhow, I have made a simple magnet system for the Hummer body and I think I would easily be able to draw and print something that would work with that..

Unfortunately the wheelbase on the body is longer than the listed 324mm.

I have a bronco wheel base of 313mm, and purchased the wheelbase extension kit thinking it would make the body work well. unfortunately it was a total waste of $40AUD as its still too short. Thankfully I have a good history of making my own links so ill have to come up with something this weekend.

Ill also have to DIY the magnetic body mounting system, shouldn't be too hard to work out.

SO yeah PSA - the raptor hard body for the TRX4 requires custom wheelbase extension to look correct.
