Default Traxxas led kit with mamba esc

How are you guys wiring the traxxas led kit if using a diff esc other then stock if I wire a jst plug from the esc Batt it will be getting 12 plus volts and it can only had 3v on the controller box

Well first off the TRX4 8030 LED light kit requires the use of the 8028 power supply which is powered directly off a 2s or 3s battery. With the stock ESC the JST connector is a direct tap off the battery. With any aftermarket ESC you will need to provide a power tap directly from the battery. Once connected to the battery, the 8028 power supply then outputs 3v to power the LEDs.

Ok ya I know I ordered the 8030 so it's all of the leds I just figured if I wire a jst lead from the esc battery side it would out off more volts I didn't know the power supply regulated the power
