Very cool to have the option.

Might want to note it is recommended to only use low gear after removing the portals. A motor can get cooked mighty fast with the incredible high 9.8:1 stock ratio in high gear without portals. At least you could hit about 35mph on 3S before it bursts into flames.

I'm confused. Isn't the reason the TRX4 is so popular is for the portal axles and the other unique systems like 2 speed trans and lockable diffs? If I didn't want those on my Traxxas vehicle why not just purchase a SCX10II.

Not everybody stays in a square box. Look around this site. You'll see people love to change and modify things. Options are good.

I haven't checked the Traxxas gearing options but maybe smaller pinion and larger spur can get some of the gearing back.

Some people dont like or want portals after running the truck with them.

The truck comes stock with 45/11 gearing. The lowest possible gearing on the pinion and spur is 45/9 since there is no larger spurs available. That is a little better but it would still only be 12:1 overall gearing in high gear. Low gear is a much more reasonable 30:1 with 45/9 gearing on the pinion and spur.

I don’t own a trx4 yet. Was curious what circumstances would cause you to not want to stick with portals?

A standard rotation motor would be needed as the Titan in trx4 is reverse rotation, correct? Also, motor leads reversed?

I’m not a portal fan so I think this is a great option. Well done SSD!

It seems like the new Bronco body is going to be a big hit, so these portal delete kits will make folks looking for a more scale look pretty happy.
