Default Budget brushed motor options?

Hi folks.

Been crawling and trailing with Axial rigs for a long time and have had a great time with the TRX4. I don’t care for brushless and have always just ran cheap brushed cans sometimes rebuildable sometimes not.

The 21t stock motor has been great but not sure how much longer it will last. Personally I think it has more than enough speed and was thinking a 27t or even 35t would give it Super crawl and still wheel speed in second....but

I always loved the 775 motor from the Summit. Does/would this fit and work in the trx4? The TRX also works in the yard and tows (no more than 40lb) a lot so am thinking this maybe a ideal motor for both work and play?

Any info appreciated. I’m not a ground breaker and don’t seem to be able to see this having being covered which kinda puts me off! :–)

775 may not fit into your TRX. TRY https://holmeshobbies.com/motors/bru...sport-550.html

Don't forget you'll need a reverse rotation motor due to the portals!

I'd just switch to a 9t pinion and run the 21t Holmes Trailmaster Sport 550. Slightly better magnets and has a ball bearing on the output shaft. The 27t and 35t motors you're likely to find will be 540 sized and lack the power and efficiency so they'll get hot.
The 775 is really big and top heavy and could only imagine it would ruin the characteristics the truck has for handling and crawling.

Great help folks. I'd not thought of rotation...or the size and weight of the other smaller/bigger motors. That's why I like these forums. Friendly folk and good advice. Many thanks.
