Default Xtraspeed TRX-4 Axle Housing

Has anyone used these yet? I have the scx10ii xtraspeed housings on two of my other rigs and love them. Wasnt sure if these are cast in a way to allow the open and closed diffs. Anyone have experience?

Good Lord, with all the brass on that front axle in the pic and the metal housing, that truck must weigh a ton

Also I feel like that would really do damage on the motor in the long run because the truck has to move all that weight which I assume strains the electronics

Haven't ordered mine yet but I plan too and my truck weighs 11.5 lbs already lol. I already geared down to a 9t pinion.

I recently saw the install of these from kevon Talbot on you tube. Petty cool but starts to add a bit of weight.

Wow, only $40 for a set? That's not bad at all.

And it's a good way to add 240g in the right place, down low. I see these being a decent alternative to portal weights.

Only issue I see, is that they might start to look pretty beat up after a couple runs.

I bought one for the front, it's super heavy. Not sure I'll even need it honestly. Bought it for the pricing and possible use. But the truck it's going on already has SSD Portal Covers and is planned to be a 5lb truck so these might ruin that plan.

How does his truck perform on the trails and climbing with all that weight up front?

His whole truck is over 12 pounds and with hard foams it does great. Still using the stock tires too haha. They actually grip very well.

You won't see much of a difference,as its a stationary weight,so not muc more stress on the motor
