Temps have been very cool with the 9t and the 2280kv. Since I had hiccups programming the esc I didn’t get around to checking temps with the stock pinion unfortunately, but I haven’t broken 120 degrees with the 9t and 2280kv after extended sessions on 3S, with a good amount of wheel speed and trailing.

With the 2280kv setup is it a bit faster than stock? I love my TRX4 but am looking for just a bit more speed when messing around lol

I have a completely stock trx-4 bronco as well and when my buddy was out here we had them both out. The 2280kv with the 9t pinion on 3S was almost a dead tie with the stock electronics and motor on 3S. Similar batteries, only difference in mah.

What position is your motor in? I’m using the A mounting holes.

Love my 2280. I never thought brusless and crawling would be a good mix but Castle Creations hit a home run with the Mamba X. The aux wire feature is awesome. I have it tied into my 2 speed to change the mode from crawl mode in first gear and rock race mode in second gear.

I’m running 3s and currently a 12t pinion that I ran with the 21t factory motor. Still crawls nice in first with good speed in second. Going to try a 10t next and see how I like it.

14 stands for 1.4" diameter motor. 06 stands for 0.6" long stator stack. I don't know why they used one outside dimension and one dimension from the stator to name the motors, but that's what it stands for.

1410 is 1.4" OD and 1" long stator stack.

I tossed the stock 11t pinion on and took the truck out for about 45 minutes today. Motor temps on position C were under 130. Good mesh. Lots of full throttle so temps should be just fine. I prefer the 9t myself, the speed with the stock pinion isn’t crazy different but it’s a bit much for the type of trailing that I do.

For reference, Here’s a clip of a couple short full throttle bursts I tried to record while hunched over steering with my chin.

I run the 2850 with the stock 11T. No cogging and I have extra weight in mine and run it on 3S. It is about as fast as it can be without being a tip over queen. It has very very good low speed control in 1st gear. The 2850 is not as strong as the 3800 though, or for that matter, Holmes 3500. You can feel the rig slow down under load which was odd for me. My unimog build is much heavier and runs heavy 2.2 wheels and doesn’t slow down when faced with a load.
