12.3 and 12.8 Rear Driveshaft Length

I only have the kit which comes with the 12.3 wb. I have added Incision links to make it 12.8 like the Defender but now I feel the rear driveshaft won’t last very long. Does anyone know if the original rtr have a longer rear driveshaft?

Parts lists have them both as 8250 so thinking your okay.

I noticed that also. Just seems like I have very little of the male portion being supported. Wish Traxxas would give extra parts.

From what I remember of my stock shaft, I've cut mine down. But there was not a half an inch of room to compress it that much shorter. You can buy just the half shafts without the joints for 8 bucks here's the link

I had one setup for a little while that I had shortened both half shafts and the male piece so they were about an inch long not including the joints. Never broke.
