Sweet Broncos! Is the 1:1 yours or just showing it off with the new Rex?

I wish the full size was mine. I was trying to find what year Ranger XLT had the sunset decals like the Traxxas. Turns out its the 1979. Although it had the 400 Windsor engine which was kind of a dog compared the the 351 like I used to have.

First mod was to make it sound as real as it looks....

The ESS-Dual sounds bad ass and has a perfect V8 sound for a Bronco. I also put some cheap red diff covers on.

Here is a tire test with RC4WD Swampers on white spoke steelies. This setup is my new favorite.

Been working on this for a while. Actually ruined a body on the first attempt.

I have been trying to match the color on my 2011 F-150 for a long time. I think i finally did it with this Bronco. Its part Duplicolor and part Tamiya Copper color. The tan is Krylon sweet Cream.

Model next to tailgate of F-150

Have to ask- How did you tackle the racetrack trim? Both of the 2tone colors look fantastic.

Thanks. The chrome trim is mylar pinstripe and it was a pain in the a$$. You have to use a heat gun to get it to bend.

I tried using Spaztiks Mirror Chrome paint because I have had great results with it and it looks like chrome but I had serious bleed through with the pinstripe masking tape on the first body attempt.

You may be saving me some serious headache and expense here so thank you! I'm actually planning on using the SpazStix Ultimate Mirror Chrome for mine too. Two more additional questions... Idk if that paint is available in brush-on as well as spray but I've got the spray. Was the SpazStix Ultimate Chrome that you used a spray or brush-on?

And also what kind of tape did you use? I've got some Tamiya 2mm that I was planning on using for the RT trim but if that's what you originally used along with SpazStix spray, then looks like I'm going to have to go another route. Fwiw I laid down some of the Tamiya 2mm tape on some scrap lexan to see how flexible it is and I'm already concerned because it pretty quickly started to lift up along the inside edge along the tight curves... sigh.

Thanks so much for the helpful tips.

Well I dont know if this is good for you or bad but I also used Tamiya 2mm mask. This is my first body attempt using Spaztiks Chrome for the trim. It would have come out awesome if the mask had stayed down (there were other significant eff-ups on the first body that I am too embarrassed to show ).

Go to the auto parts store and pick up a roll of vinyl pinstripe, it’s very flexible.

Actually that's what I used, not mylar as I incorrectly said. The vinyl pinstripe has to be heated to conform to curves this small. On a full size car the curves are much bigger and the vinyl follows curves easier.

A set of LockeupRC Iconic 1.9 wheels with the widener ring would look pretty darn close to the 1:1 truck you used as inspiration.

1.9" Iconic SLWC Beadlock Wheel
