Default Anyone esle notice this

In the process of switching wheels and tires between my Defender and Bronco i noticed the Bronco has longer and slightly beefier axle stubs than the Defender. It must be just an updated part by Traxxas be the part numbers are the same. I assume the longer stub on the Bronco is for it's center cap because they wont work when using the Broncos wheels on the Denfender chassis. There aren't enough threads to grab the cap. I'll take some pics.

That's weird, 3 of the 4 on my Defender are long enough for a center cap and one is too short...? I didn't notice till I got my cheap Axial beadlocks and tried to put on the center caps.

May have been a mixing of the new stubs with the old. Damn that sucks.

Maybe you were the lucky dog to get the last short one in stock.

I was going to start a thread on that as well. Kind of a bummer. None of mine will accept the center cap. I did a complete conversion from the D110 to Bronco awaiting the clear Bronco body to be released.

Wasn't too bad but the stub issue and the driveshaft issue. You have to combine a front and rear TRX4 driveshaft to get the length right.
Subtle differences make these conversions a nightmare sometimes.

My thought was to drill out the fake acorn nuts on the center cap and use scale hardware to affix the cap but none of the scale nut drivers are skinny enough to fit into the cutout where the molded lug nut is.

Haha, go figure I win the axle stub lottery and not the one that pays out money or free RC's.

Didn't seem any beefier, but they are longer. Longer to support the screw on nut covers being used is the reason.

Yep they're the same diameter. Mine were so caked with threadlock it was hard to tell. Someone at Traxxas got happy with the threadlock on mine.

I have to fess up... I changed my wheels tonight and noticed I had one of my hexes on backwards. So, all of my axle stubs are the same length. I put portal covers on and one of them got past me, whoops.
