| shocks became very sticky after oil change
So I recently changed the stock oil out in my trx4 to Team losi 10wt and I have noticed the shocks have no become very sticky. Is it maybe swelling the o rings up and traxxas doesn't use sythetic compatible o rings??

Probably the o-rings are swollen. Try loosening the bottom cap a quarter turn.

As i rebuilded mine i found that the spacer is about 1/10 to 2/10 mm to big. So i didn't fully tiden the caps so they run smooth. Need some x-rings to replace the spacer. Send by my Pixel 2 XL with Tapatalk |

| Re: shocks became very sticky after oil change I found the same issue. I had some thinner spacers from other shock kits and installed them to free up the sticky operation. Or you can carefully sand the stock spacers to make them a little thinner.

It would be odd to have swollen o-rings with synethic shock oil. I assume this is what Traxxas is using from the factory. I'd disassemble them to ensure they are assembled correctly. Also use Noleen SF3 (AKA Team Associated Green Slime) on the o-rings.

With alloy shock bodies you can find that the plastic plungers wear unevenly. So once you rebuild the plunger is in a different postion and the shock movement stiffens. If this is the case you can rotate the shaft to try and find the sweet spot or replace the plunger. :-) This happens less often with vertical shocks like the trx4 but more common with shocks that are angled. Also if you over tighten the nut it can distort the plunger. |

I suspect the O-ring retainer is just screwed down too tight. Back the cap off 1/4 turn which should free up the shaft.
