| TRX weightloss tip
My TRX need to loose some weight to be a competive scale crawler. What's the best tip to loose some weight? I've changed the body on mine to a proline commanche body, got rid of the shift servos for the axles and made a custom battery mount. I know the links are quite heavy, but what else? |

There's a lot of plastic that can be taken off like the fender wells. Remove remote locking diffs and servos and install from lockers.

Maybe shave a few grams by replacing stainless/ steel screws/ nuts with aluminum... low stress areas like plastic, lexan, rx box, etc.

My rig is 8.2 pounds with no brass and I run a hard body. It’s SORRCA C1 legal and I took first place in both C1 and C2 (still on 4.19 tires) with it yesterday. Weight can be a good thing.

Think my plan must be to get some titanium links, lighter wheels, lighter chassis (come on Brazin ), convert to single speed and brush less. | |

There's already brass everything for the TRX on eBay and AliExpress. No wait, not sure if I've seen brass tires. Male that almost everything.

I took a drill bit to the body mounts/posts and shock mount braces to shave a tiny bit of weight, drilling through where it was strong enough to take it and dimpling other areas it wasnt. I cut off the bottom of the body post that hung below the post mounts as I never plan on lifting the body any more. It was a minuet amount of weight Last edited by HumboldtEF; 04-24-2018 at 03:51 PM. |
