|  Front diff lock problem
I was trailing today and as I usually do locking and unlocking the diffs as I needed them. Was working fine and then the next time I flip the switch for the front the servo is making a lot of noise. I flipped it off and back on and get same result. Servo still seems to be moving on command but when engaged makes a lot of noise and vibrates. Is the servo going bad or is there a problem in the differential. Seems to run normally in high/low gear and with one or both diffs engaged. Although, at this point I’m not positive that the front diff is engaging. Any thoughts or ideas would be welcome. Thanks.

You should see the servo arm swing through its range when you toggle it. To check the diff for lock just lift the truck. Turn the front wheels by hand. Locked they should turn the same way. Unlocked they will turn opposite ways. :-)

I removed all the pieces from the servo and it looks like it is behaving as it should with nothing mounted to it. I think the plastic piece that mounts to the servo may have stripped. Also, this could be a problem. The front diff appears to be cracked.

Not sure if you've looked through this thread yet but there's some good info in there regarding issues with locker engagement... mostly related to the servo-throw. Hope you get it figured out asap. Options to replace Micro Servo's? |
