| Re: 100 Mile Review I map the trails using Google Maps measurement tool. If anything I underestimate the mileage a little. The truck is zig zagging more than the lines I walk. I also don’t add up the mileage it does in the yard every week. So in reality it probably a fair bit more. But it’s good enough of a way to log it for me. :-)

Thanks, I was just curious. I estimate my trucks by hours based on how many packs I have run through them.

Well almost 180 Miles now and a trip to Scotland saw a little to much sea water! Two failed bearings to add to the list. Other than that still going strong. Cruise control was a god send on a 5 mile beach hike. The 27t Holmes Trail Master Sport Motor is on its last legs after 135 Miles but it’s been a great motor and I have another to pop in at some point. Think it will get the Landy to the 200 mile mark first. Pics in my sig if interested... Failed parts so far: 1 hex pin. XL5 ESC (Motor ok but replaced at same time). 1 Stock servo horn stripped. 1 micro servo. 2075x servo (Was in use as a shift servo). 2x bearings outer portal. |

Total: 272.8 Miles (439.0 km) and finally something broke. Bearing in a front portal exploded. I'd packed all portals with marine grease after the first ten miles and it certainly helped with longevity. The rear portals are in good condition still. Only one bad bearing. The fronts are a mess. They must let more water in. Also need new CVD pins. Still overall been a very tough truck. Looking forward to many more miles. Should also note excessive steering slop as the rod ends have way to much play. Haha. |
