Stay away from the HR shock mounts! The pan hard mount is weak and will eventually fail. Here is a pic of one that failed on my #1 TRX4 after about a year of slow rock crawling with no bashing. Note that there is not much cross section of material where the mount broke. This is clearly a design problem but HR will do nothing to warranty their parts after 90 days. To answer your question since it will apply to the other options out there, the body mount is part of a brace that is retained and will go between whichever shock towers you end up with.

Here are the Samix ones I ordered and installed. As you can see in the second picture is how the stock mount is still utilized. The third picture has the beefed up panhard mount. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

So samix is the way to go? Do they let you run a longer shock, or is the top hole stock height?

I have mine set in the middle hole. It may let you run longer shocks. I only have stock kit shocks so I don’t know the differences. Sorry. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ive got a pair of 110mm Hot Racing shocks I bought to test on my Rock Rey and they have a strange amount of travel. Like they were the same length compressed as the 100mm factory shocks but 10mm longer extended. Id be sweet to run those at like 40-50% droop and get a lot of articulation.
