| Re: TRX-4 Sport They’re going to be more on the level, both being solid axle/locked diff, single speed, and chassis-mounted steering. The TRX4 Sport will have the advantage of portal axles(more clearance, but higher cog) and a steadily growing aftermarket, whereas the Venture has the divorced transmission, yielding better low cog and room for a deep interior. I think they both have a sufficiently strong drivetrain. Price point is better on the TRX4, freeing up funds for a better shell. The Venture FJ is highpriced because of the licensed body, and that body will rub on just about any tire bigger than 4.25” OD, and a 12.3” wb, I think, does better with tires that are 4.5” OD are bigger, if you run on any real, technical terrain. Those are some of my thoughts.

The biggest thing you will notice is the better steering the TRX-4 has (if it is the same as the OE TRX-4). The Venture doesn't have CVD's and it hinders steering a decent amount. It also has stops on the knuckles to prevent over steering the dog bones but those can be removed with a Dremel without too much trouble and strength loss.

Are the blacked out windows painted or a sticker? That’s my biggest problem with the body IMHO. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Last edited by THX_138; 07-09-2018 at 09:47 PM. |

[QUOTE=dpcardoza;5848015]Are the blacked out windows painted or a sticker? That’s my biggest problem with the body IMHO. I’m not sure. I’m personally not worried about it. The whole perfect replica scale thing is not really my thing. I like the performance aspect of the rig. Plus you can always get another body if you want a perfect scale. |

| Re: TRX-4 Sport I'm pretty sure if you peeled off the black window stickers the windows would be red. I sure wish Traxxas would sell their kits with bodies that have clear windows.

Best way to remove lexan paint is to use nitro fuel, mask everything off then pour into a rag and wipe over and over and over till the paint is gone. Nitro fuel won't haze and cloud the lexan like acetone or other strippers. One thing that sucks is that nitro fuel is $10-15 a quart. I know a guy that just bought a new Axial CRC jeep to take to Axialfest and he removed all the red paint and repainted it blue... looks great. there are tons of tutorials on this.

Well your video just made my decision more difficult. I was thinking to get my son a Honcho and the Trx-4 for me, now I wondering if I should get the Trx for both of us.

I thought about only having to carry one set of spares also, does seem easier. Have any of you noticed that the Traxxas site is offering the Trx-4 kit with a charger and 2s Lipo for free, I don’t need the charger but could always sell that off, any thoughts?

Does anyone know if the transmission in the sport is the high or low gear?
