| noisey sport transmission ?
I just picked up a new red trx sport, first thing I noticed is it seems to be overly noisey in the transmission area ? I checked the pinion / spur gear mesh an it had a touch of play so that seemed ok, I have a trx defender an its allways been quiet when running, I understand that being brand new things gotta be broken in so hoping it gets quieter the more I run it, has anyone else noticed theres being kinda overly noisey ?

Thanks for the tip on the electrical tape, forgot all about that one, I did notice my pinion gear wasn't lined up with the spur gear, easy fix, I will run it with out the body an see how that sounds then.

Congrats on the new rig My Kit sounds different to my Defender, the single speed is missing several gears and shafts that the two speed Transmission has. It's normal. The pinion should be lined up perfectly if you have 1.5mm of shaft sticking out of it. That plate is not sitting in the same spot as the motor can move up and down and affect the mesh when the motor plate is all weebly-wobly in the slot and is not being held in it's correct position as it is when the hold down cover is installed. I'd do what Natedog suggested then run 4-5 packs through it then pull off the cover inspect the spur and pinion for any odd wear then make adjustments. Edit: I drilled a hole in the cover so I can see the mesh... I can see a minute amount of play between the pinion and spur when I rotate the wheels slowly back and forth.
