I have been using my old race batteries from 4yrs ago they are Turnigy Nano Tech 5600 2cell. I have no need for a 3 cell lipo battery. I checked the voltage in the one that is in the XJ yesterday before I left and it was at 7.98 just checked it now and it is 7.69. I probably used for a good hour yesterday. I would guess I can get 2 1/2 hours out of it if not longer maybe. It's hard to say cause I have not taken it on a long drive. Also that was with running all my lights.

Thanks, my Bronco came with a 4000mah 3s, and the Wraith I just picked up came with a 2200 3s. It’s been so long since I’ve ran I can’t remember how long run times are. I’ve been browsing batteries on hobby king tonight and needed my memory refreshed lol

I like my 2cell batteries. I have newer "shortys" that are my practice batteries that I have thought about trying but haven't yet. As my race batteries start to fade I am just going to use them in my crawlers. They might be a little over kill but I am not that worried.

Looks like you are starting your own collection there

I'm getting about 90 mins of crawl time out of my turnigy 2200mah 3s and about 110 mins out of my nano tech 2650mah 3s. That's not trail time. Thats crawling in low gear almost the whole time. High gear trail times are going to be lower. I like the turnigy 2200 packs. I'm about to buy a couple more.

I picked up the Wraith so my brother has something to run for now til he gets his own again, then I'm going to convert it to 1.9 rig with scx10.2 axles. But yeah one isn't enough lol.

Good to know, I just picked up 2 more 3s 2200s for the Wraith and 2 3s 3600s for the bronco from hobbyking last night so that gives me 3 batteries for each rig. Thanks for the info!

I've been trying to keep up on this build, but haven't done so good till tonight. Good chance to do so while having a easy night at work. Love the whole giving thing here and the surprise element thing, awesome. Also what a great build thread to follow. Inspires me to get my proline body started that's on my project table. Now to just find more time to do so.

What body is this? I’m guessing the proline JK body for the trx4?

Good to know! Why did you decide on this body over the proline one?
(Just curious as I’m currently planning a trx4 JK build)

I wanted to do an interior. I knew the Axial 2012 already had one molded in. Was going to go with the 3 piece body but came across the 2017 bodies. Just like the look of it better so I found a cheap donor body for interior. I also like that there is more add on body parts for the Axial JK versus the Proline plus just wanted something different.

So the wife says "want to carve a pumpkin?"
Me "hmmmm I guess so"
Wife "what do you want to make?"
Me "I don't know...."
Wife "nothing perverted"
Me "oh oh oh I got it!!!"
I know it's a Jeep thing

Messing around and setting things up I heard a familiar sound coming from the rear shift servo. Had a very good idea what was going on and then it started clicking. Yep I guessed right. Haven't even had it of the bench yet and it craps the bed...pure Traxxashit electronics

These little servos are a pain in the ass! Mine haven't went out yet but I know it's only matter a matter of time, I'm thinking about trying a promodeler mini servo but problem is I think the cases are slightly bigger, I suppose it would be worth it to modify the truck though to have good servos instead of changing these constantly.

I've been checking this one out

ProModeler - 110oz-in, Mini, CLS #DS110CLHV

I have looked at those also but they seem to large to fit properly. If I had one though I would be trying to figure something out

It's been a few days but haven't forgotten about the JK...weather took a turn for the worst this past weekend that really slowed me down (not that I go that fast anyhow)...damn ice strom knocked out the power for 3 1/2 days...was able to get some work done though beforehand
