| TRX-4 2017 Jeep CRC JK
I must be crazy to start another project without finishing up the the others but that's no fun. So a couple of weeks back while at the LHS I am across this on the shelf I couldn't pass it up so it came home with me. I have been trying to get my hands on one for some time now. I originally wanted to this as my first build but couldn't get a body. I know Proline has a drop on body for the 12.8 but always wanted the Axial 2017. The screw on fenders look much better than the lexan ones to me plus I have the opportunity to order more Knight Customs designs for the Jeep. I know it's going to be difficult as the body doesn't fit the TRX-4 chassis. So here we go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by carpetfuzz17; 07-20-2018 at 01:11 PM. |

I picked up a kit couple weeks back and slowly working on it. Just trying to get a rolling chassis that I can work with. I learned my lessons from the previous TRX4 so I know what to change from the start. Not going to boredom anyone to death with the building process but did do one thing different. I inspected all the bearings and for good reason. Found several with no grease in them. I packed new grease in the the bearings would hate to have one fail. Yes it is a lot of grease but being a crawler to me it's no big deal Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I was able to get a little bit more done today. The frame rails are way to long so let the cutting begin. Once I got them cut off time to test the body and to me it lines up using the front RTR body holes I know it's sitting a little high but that is going to adjusted Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It's time to tackle the rear inner fenders. This was one of the biggest reason I wanted to do this body was so I could add the inner fenders. With the frame cut down the fenders really stick out. Trimmed up and ready for testing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Can you take some out in the flat area between the shock tower & rock light?

| Re: TRX-4 2017 Jeep JK I had thought about that but wasn't sure when it got put back together if it would hold up. I really almost split it but decided against it. With the drop parts I can play around with those to see what works best. Its not problem to pick up new fenders and redo

When I got home from work today I seen my Hong Kong midnight special had shown up. This is what happens when you stay up late on EBay. I am not expecting high quality but they actually look decent. I figured for $10 shipped I will try them out. If they don't work out to the parts bin they go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by carpetfuzz17; 07-19-2018 at 07:57 PM. |

I have two sets of those Xtra Speed axle housings and really have no complaints. Typical price for the pair is around $56 which is still a good deal.

Managed to get the Knight Customs bumper and rear fenders done tonight so far so good. Everything is fitting nice. Had to cut out the fenders to let the light buckets to drop into place. Not a big deal as you can't see them once the body is on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Had some free time yesterday and hit up the local Harbor Freight. I know that the quality isn't the highest but some stuff is actually not that bad. That said I was after a little digital scale to weigh some items just to get an idea of the differences. I started with some weight that was already stamped to get an idea how accurate it was. Close enough for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Here is the numbers that I have come up with. They were each weighted with the same hardware to get the best results. STOCK HONG KONG MIDNIGHT SPECIALS Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

While I was working on the axles I figured that the links needed some attention also. They were starting to rust already and they haven't been outside yet. I know the first rock there goes all the color but I couldn't help myself. I think they turned out nicely. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
