Well, it didn't occupy me all weekend, but Friday night was cool.

Got all the Samix brass installed on the rig last night. I came away thoroughly impressed with the quality and fitment of these parts. I did the full kit plus rotors/calipers up front. Rear portal covers plus rotors/calipers out back. I also did the Samix shock spring cups and the lower link mounts. I should have done a before and after weigh in, but there's no doubt the Samix brass adds weight, and in all the right places.

I also got the Traxxas Snorkel/Mirror kit added to the Sport body. This is about as far as I intend to take this body in terms of scale. I think it's just enough to have the truck look pretty good at a distance while running, but still pretty darn light for performance.

I do have the brass wheel hexes on the way, and aluminum motor plate, and a couple other small goodies, so she's still a work in progress. (Seems like the always are!!!)

Anyway, hope everyone has a good weekend and has a chance to get out and crawl for a bit. Weather is supposed to be pretty dicey here again though, so we'll see.

Yes , I flipped my front and got another front for rear is non flip position so it all still looks to scale .

I used a front mount in the rear

And a upside-down and backwards rear mount in the front

Had to do some trimming to get them where I wanted tho

That engine looks really good Moedawi. Nicely done.

Some new shoes and socks for the rex, trying them out tomorrow. First time with the krawlers.

Not really ,the whole wheel/tire combo is not that heavy considering that they are 5.5s on 2.2s plus the trx has absolutely no issues with it .

Did this lastnight. Rear bumper, I drilled a new hole on the frame which allows me to move the bumper mount in 7mm..Also chopped on the body to accept the mod...
Frame mod...

Before the mod...

After the mod...

Front bumper mod..Dremeled the adjusting bracket so i could slide it far enough in to drill a additional new adjusting hole. Bumper slid in 6mm after mod..

After..

Im very happy with these mods.. On a side note the front bumper mod, that is as far in as I could go without the front tires rubbing the bumper. They dont rub but they almost do..

Click on the pic links.. Photobucket is being stupid...Some pics worked some didnt but there in order as long as you click pic links..

Ok - So, didn't do anything to my TRX, but with some of the severe weather we had move through, I lost 3 trees. 2 of these fell right across my trail that takes me to the back rock bridge creek crossings. Anyway, I spent my weekend with a chainsaw clearing my course. But, I did it so my TRX could crawl so............

Dang Walsh that’s intense! Stay safe buddy.

Hit the rocks in the morning for a crawl. Some pics below and a clip here... https://www.instagram.com/p/BuSRRisAYMp

After crawling went to this free bash and race event that was a lot of fun. Took the rally out and won 2 races but lost the 3rd to an Xmaxx (not the one pictured). It was a race what you bring type of deal.

Couple pics here of some rad paint jobs from RC Bombshells, dude has some skills!

I can't believe someone is using a skateboard truck as a wheelie bar on that Snap-On Tools X-Maxx!

LoL! Looks like something I would do lmao! Hey it would be durable, depending on bearings would create little drag and could set how much wheelie you want by what size wheel you put on it. LMAO!!!

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the kind words.

We got a kick out of that X maxx. The tail gate was open and flapping the whole time he raced. Here’s a clip from the bash n race event, you can see that x maxx catch some air

Just for fun.

Also picked up a sport camper body for cheap. I’ll wait until the defender is destroyed to mount it so I can go to a chassis mounted fender setup. It looks like I would have to hack up the sport body too much to mount the defender fenders on it.
