Thinking about changing my shock oil. You guys think 15wt is too light for a 8lb 6.5oz rig?

Gotta jump in on that flexed out Friday! 4" up front 4.5" in the rear

Changed my shock oil from 30wt to 15wt. Big difference & I like it! Tried it out on the course for a few.
Corrugated pipe has found it's spot. I'll update more in my build later
Any dad's with kids that have trolls beware! I didn't think I was any where close enough for this to happen. Lmao!

lol @ the poor Troll that now has a comb-over. Also when I saw that corrugated pipe all I could think of was dad ( before securing it in place) sending one of the kids through to make sure that in case the truck got stuck, it could be recovered by one of the crew! I think I'm going to go with a lighter-weight oil too... nice to hear that there seems to be an improvement in handling.

As long as poppy wears her hair down in the back it's not to noticeable. Both of them would be more then happy to crawl up in there. Made the shock respond faster. Snappier. Don't know if it was the oil wt change or just putting new oil, but my flex is now 4.5" front & rear. when it was 4" front "4.5" rear before oil change

Oh boy. Many a troll have been lost at my house. Although my dog seems to swallow them whole with out chewing I'm reluctant to retrieve them. Funny though to see their hair sticking out of the poo.

I recently put 30w in mine and I think I'll try 15w.

It'd be cool to make a ramp and try to drive ontop of the corrugated pipe. Might be an interesting challenge.

Nice!! It’s a great change to do. The stock shocks have two problems IMO. They don’t seem to be bled at all from the factory so they can be very sticky, I also oiled the small ring at the bottom of the shock assembly and his helped a lot with the sticking. The 2nd being that the traxxas 30w shock oil is heavy, so even if the shaft is moving freely the stock oil will keep the shocks acting fairly slow.

I’m running a 25wt in the rear and a 20w up front and the softer orange shocks up front. may try 10w up front since I have it around but that may be too light for my rig. Glad it’s working out for you!

Reset my remote last night. In doing that I had to reset steering endpoints. Also set my diff lock switch to be rear locked- all locked- front locked. Also changed some settings on the ESC as well.

Here's the video I did showing the difference in the shock oils.

Here's the video I used to switch my diff lock servos

Nice! If you find yourself wanting more of a turning radius with the full lock I recommend checking out the HR high clearance link.

My neighbor just purchased a new TRX4 Bronco. He traded the me the Bronco body for some spare upgrade parts that I had lying around including a 1230SG and HeyOK BEC, portal weights, 9t pinion and more. I spent a couple of days tuning the suspension and mounting his ebay Cherokee body. This is the result. I think it turned out very nice and it really works well now. Still have more plans for future upgrades.

That diff lock servo setting is the best thing I did to my Bronco! To me it just drives more like it should. And when you want to get out and do a few donuts in the dust it stays on the ground instead of flipping over as soon as you make the first round. Oh and it drifts super nice too.

Shortened the links in the back to get 313WB and started on mounting the pickup body. Also 3d printing a low and narrow battery tray.

I love it! I'm so glad I switched mine. Blasting around is way more fun with just the rear locked. It acts allot more like a 1:1 truck I think.
