Calm yourselves a bit, OK? Harley has gone so far as to build up a VS4-10 chassis on top of TRX-4 portal axles and upload a video for it, even going so far as to include the custom link measurements needed: https://youtu.be/3qiXJNzvyO4 ...and then because of the interest in it he got Vanquish/Incision to release a drag link and Panhard link kit specifically for that build: https://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/irc00202.htm Everybody has their own opinions, everybody has their own favorites. No need to call two of the most helpful individuals in the crawling internet community "clowns" from the cheap seats. Take a gander at all the subject matter they've covered either posting here or on video regarding this hobby over the years and realize that in the grand scheme of things, calling them names for not being believers in the TRX-4 being the be-all, end-all crawling/trailing/scaling rig is a bit petty. BTW - the new idea goin' round is to run a rear portal axle only - and Harley and Brandon from Vanquish (among a few others) are taking that concept and running with it - interesting times ahead! |

Ultimately, going with the vs 410 chassis is probably the direction I'll go somewhere down the road with my X4. I like the chassis layout, especially the battery placement. Putting the trx4 axles underneath that chassis seems like it would be a pretty cool build. I'm anxious to see what Harley does with it. I'll let him be the guinea pig. Well not today, but a few days ago: Built it and drove it! Finished building the sport kit and took it out with my boys on some excellent cave and cliff side trails in NorCal. We all passed the radios around and got to enjoy its performance. All stock except for wheels and tires. The whole experience has been very impressive, my first non-Axial rig. Sorry, no photos, as juggling three trucks, a 4yo and a 6yo on some sketchy high trails was enough. Take my word for to though, pretty epic. |

Bought the Vanquish VS4-10 pro tube bumper set and installed it today. I wanted a cheap plastic set that was less bulky than the stockers. My 2 year old tends to drive into things at speed so I wanted something shock absorbant and cheap to replace if need be. I also flipped the front bumper mount and used a front mount in the rear to lift both bumpers a bit: I had to trim just a little bit off the body to get it fit. The thing I like about these is that they dont hang as low as the stock bumpers to begin with, and when you flip the mounts to lift the bumpers higher, they dont require cutting off half the body to do it. Just a few mm of trimming here and there. They don't fit the body perfectly, but pretty good. The rear bumper is actually almost perfect and would be if it were a few mm narrower. The front just doesnt conform to the shape of the Sport front clip, but it might work a lot better on something like the defender/bronco/blazer that have a relatively flat front. That front bumper looks pretty good to me. As long as it works the way you want it to, who's going to really notice out on the trails and rocks anyway Sent from my LM-G710VM using Tapatalk |
