According to the tracking, I should have everything this Friday. I also ordered an interior to throw in to the new body. "thumbsup"

Figures. The 3mm added spacers provide just enough clearance. The Revolver is the only motor I've had any clearance issues with. The Trailmasters and Puller Pros just drop in. I guess the longer shaft is for use with fliers.

Love the feel of the Revolver though. Being older the noise isn't an issue. I can't hear the high frequencies much, but at least with the Revolver I can hear the ESC boot-up sequence and can hear when things get bound up.

I agree - it’s an awesome crawling set up. Unfortunately, my ears are still pretty good and it can be a bit shrill at times!:shock:

I was putt’n around in the garage last night just playing with some settings and holy cow, even more pronounced in that enclosed space.

Re: What did you do to your TRX-4 today?

So, I was crawling with the Trojen_RC_Fab Truggy last night on my backyard course. Working the technical rock bridge crossing over the creek, had a "moment" and in to the water it went. With the rain we've had, it was about a foot deep and it went straight to the bottom. Jumped in quick, but as I pulled it out, the Hi-Tec HS-7954SH was already smokin away. Bummer.

Anyway, with the love I've been showin the Sporto, and the fact that I drive it more often than the Truggy, I made a decision. I ordered up a new 3brosRC G13 direct power servo for the TRX, and the Truggy will get the Pro-Modeler out of it. Below are the specs on the new G13. Torque Monster! I'll be running it on 3S.

Technical Specifications:

* Dead band: 2μs

* Motor: brushless motor

* Operates on 2s, 3s, or 4s lipo, 6v-14.8v

* Operating Speed (11.1v): 0.12sec/60°

* Operating Speed (14.4v): 0.10sec/60°

* Stall Torque (11.1v): 527oz

* Stall Torque (14.4v): 672oz

* Dimensions: 40X20X37mm

* Weight: 71g

* Connector Wire Length: JR 265mm

* Bearing: 2BB

I took my Defender to a local park on Saturday with 120mm Hyrax tires (gold wheels), they do OK but on rocks with plenty of dust they didn't inspire confidence. I did roll it and smash a cab corner that I'll need to try and bend back out.

Yesterday, Monday, I put smaller Pitbull Rocker tires (black wheels), they did great and are super soft, but my diffs kept hitting on rocks and getting snagged on tree branches that I didn't notice the Hyrax's did on Saturday. I've got another set of wheels and tires, both Amazon specials on their way to try out later this week.
On another note, I've got a set of plain-jane 1.9 RC4WD steelie wheels from my LHS that I don't have any tires for yet, any recommendations? I was thinking about the Pro-line KM3.
And I have a steel bumper on the way, it's more of a brush guard but I'll add some plating on the underside to help protect my body. Pictures in a few days.

I went with the slightly smaller tires for a better scale look and won't rub on the fenders as much. I suppose I'll just go with the stuffed and rubbing tires. I'll pick up a set of the Rock Beast XLs when I need tires next.

Having already flipped the bumper mount on the chassis, It dawned on me to also flip the brackets on the bumper itself. Gained about another 1/8" of departure clearance."thumbsup"

I got out for some more test and tune with the new powerplant as well. As I mentioned earlier, I'm ditching the full coverage bumper in favor of a small coverage stinger for better approach. So on my test today, I just ran without the front bumper and what a huge difference! If the stinger eliminates even half as much hangup I'll be thrilled.

I think I've got the 1800kv Revolver completely dialed for the Sporto now. Throttle curve is awesome, and the drag brake is spot on. It's like a whole new truck. Threw the OG body on and just went out and thrashed it. Just so darn capable. I'm falling in love all over again!:lmao:

New body is in route, and the new "shoes" and foams should be here Friday. Once I get everything set-up, I'm gonna get out to some rock ledges that are about 20 mins up the road from me. Scenery and terrain are epic and every time I go I ask myself why I don't hit it more often. I'll be sure to post some pics."thumbsup"

I took the bumpers off my rover to fit my Raptor body and it makes a massive difference. Only issue is now the body is more easily damagable. But if it's a crap body you don't care about, go for it!

Agreed. If I'm running the old Sport body and I know it's gonna be technical, I'll just run without. "thumbsup"

You have me wanting to try a revolver on my X4 now :) good thing the 1080 is already on the way. I really like sensored systems, minus the price tag.

Bumpers are something I need to get on order. Not a fan of the stock uns. As you pointed out, they are too big. I have looked at the Wertymade and SSD, any reasons to avoid these?

I’ve heard good things about the SSD smog. My suggestion is get something as low profile as possible. I went for a scale look and while it did look good, it sucked in the rocks. Just protruded out too far and killed approach.

That's why I still have the stock bumper on my rover; most everything aftermarket sticks way out- I believe because winches are the BIG thing right now so they're accomodating for that. I have a bumper that should be delivered today that I'll modify by adding plate steel on the bottom to act as a skid and protect the body but tuck up tight...that is the plan anyway.

It's been a few years since I've embeded photos... click the link and it should pop up a picture of the bumper.

Great choice!"thumbsup"

I have a few Wertymade bumpers and they are extremely tough. They are made very well with thick steel.

"thumbsup" thanks for saying so. I like the simple design of it as well

Edit: Assembled my rear portal axle. A thing of beauty. Loving the quality in this kit

Testing new wheels/tires. Amazon specials. Hard to beat. I will be venting these tires. Sealed they’re like running full psi on a 1:1 and they were cheap if it doesn’t work out. Also wanted to see what 2.2 XL tires looked like https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ee2769e8d0.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ea7f60e7c7.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b8a1a66bb8.jpg

Your '66 is starting to come together nicely toys222. Personally, I'd bring those sliders up a bit more to where the bottom of the slider was even with the plastic runners. Lookin good though - like that color combo.
