However, I wanted working brake light and the ability to turn off the headlights. So I had a dig about in my Arduino bits box and pulled out an Arduino Pro Mini, some LEDs and some wire. The result is working headlights and side lights, rear lights and brake lights.

Basicly, I have hooked channel 3 (direct) and channel 2 (with a Y cable) on my FS-GT3C up to the Arduino. The Arduino reads the pulse width on the channels and the code turns on the lights when Channel 3 is activated. It also monitors the Channel 2 and puts on the brake lights (increases the intensity of the LEDs used for the rear lights) when the pulse width is between 1450us and 1550us.

All in all I am pretty happy.
Man! That's awesome! I'd love to see a tutorial on this and the code

Use "CTRL + Print Screen" to take a screen shot of your program. Then use "CTRL + V" to paste it into a graphics program and you can crop down to what you want to show us. Then save to your hard drive.

Taking pics of the screen like you did, makes it hard to read. But thanks for sharing tho

You can get a great image editor called GIMP. It's free and you can do almost anything you can do in Photoshop.

Looks good. Now you just have to bang it up a little to match the body.

Yep! It’s got one ding due to the nozzle hitting it about 97% through, but I’ll definitely give it some dents and dings! (Hopefully!)

ended up putting cherokee body on, changed the bumper and added a winch and new rear bumper with spare, hyrax tires, 6 channel reciever, now i'd like to do something about inner fenders to hide that open look, then interior later on.

Well, I lied about the Light bar. I was suppose to get it on Friday and my store didn't get one in. I'm leaving it on the list cause I am ordering one this week.

Here's some pics from this weekend's competition.

Hi! Yeah, the comp was a blast. On the 1st course I ended up with 22 points :(
Second course I got a DNF cause I ran out of time. Winch hook broke and that set me back.

A buddy was able to tune my ESC before the comp started.
I still haven't got my connector from Castle.
