Love TRX-6 so much that I got truck #2 It will be my runner while trx6 #1 will be shelf queen, too expensive.
Here showing two different bed styles.
Left, truck #1 RC4WD bed with aluminum liner, very scale and bling bling but too heavy.
Right, truck #2 GRC bed, light and very versatile with optional bed tool box installed that you can store screw driver, spare screws or body clips. It can even slide in and out of view what a ingenious design that GRC comes up with. I also added GRC optional spare wheel mount (not installed, decided to leave out) GRC bed uses two slider tabs to lock the body in place so no need to fiddle with body clips.

Getting closer to finishing mine.
J concept 1993 Ford.
My favorite Year Ford and color.
The side steps, Rock sliders or Nurf bars are still too Narrow for this wide body.
Any other options?

Added some brass down low on the TRX-6, installed SSD overdrive up front, Club5racing stainless steel Husky links, front&rear metal bumpers, metal sliders, Holmes Hobbies PP V2 2700kv, Mamba X ESC, CC 10a BEC feeding the steering servo 8v and a REEFS RAW 500 to throw that heavy front-end around. Just have to trim all the low hang-ups off the G63 body and she’ll be good-to-go...

I wanted an aluminum panhard mount for my front-heavy TRX-6 but I wanted to keep the stock fender wells/shock towers, for that clean look. Just so happened I had an extra aluminum panhard mount lying around from an old TRX-4 project I was working on. That combined with some careful trimming to the fender well, worked perfectly. I also have a brass link mount which includes a brass panhard mount, so I anticipate minimal flexing and/or bump steer.

Today the TRX4 got some 110mm shocks. And with the Team Raffee adjustable shock towers. For a little bit more Articulation. Front upper link is to short so i will try to adjust the rod end see if i need a new link? Just need to pickup some shock oil And spacers at the local shop to finish it up. Oh and waiting on the new motor to arrive. I decided to try a Holmes Hobbies Puller Pro 3500kv should have a little bit of pep now...

Getting the TRX4 ready for my father to take ownership. Already swapped the 45T with a 27T and replaced the receiver since channel 2 stopped working. Next up is putting in the new front bearings once they arrive, then it’ll be mounting the Bronco body.

Default What did you do to your TRX-4 today?

Nice evening so I decided to try out the GSpeed on a different rock wall. About 30 seconds in, I lost the hex screw to the upper panhard mount.

I had a fresh charged battery so I brought out the TRX4 to the same wall.

Now I forgot that I reinstalled the underDrive in the rear to go with the over in the front along with putting I think 15wt oil back in the shocks.
So, it was a good shakedown for the changes.

I was really impressed with the 32-35% overdrive in the Gspeed, the front just eats the rocks. So I figured I’d revisit the UD/OD in the Trx4.

I hadn’t planned on a video, so I just slapped the phone on a Velcro mount on the controller. Apologies for video quality.

Holy cow am I glad I redid the UD/OD. It did awesome on my slick granite. After I installed the 110mm shocks in my Longer travel setup I was absolutely unable to transition from the red granite rock to the next. It would flop.

Now, it eats the rocks like the Gspeed does.

I’ve slid completely off that red rock a lot in the past. It’s absolutely smooth to the touch. One of the slickest rocks in my walls.

So, I’m pleased where the Trx4 is on today’s outing.

ETA - I chuckled at the SHV500v3 just a squallering in the video.

Cool video. Subscribed. I have OD in my sport. I may have to consider UD in the rear. Your truck looks unstoppable.

What tires are you running?

Thanks!

Yeah it was doing good!

Literally exceeded my expectations. I’ve only ran the Od/Ud with the stock shocks so this was a first time with the 110s.

My GSpeed pulled the same maneuver on another rock wall where the ass end slid off the side of the rock and it clawed itself back up. That’s when the lightbulb went off for the Trx4.

I had Hyraxes in predator compound on. The other tires I rotate through are J Concepts Landmines and cut stock canyon trails.

Took the Sport on my back wall last night.

Holy cow is this really fun now.

Pulled some nice lines/transitions that I either couldn’t do before or struggled with.

Quite a bit of lexan scraping also from attempting lines that I never considered in the past.

A lot of these rocks are really smooth that feel soft to the touch, if that makes sense.

I had a lot of fun with this transition from the red rock to the white on the right.

Both are very slick and I’ve slid off both in the past. I mean sitting still, and truck goes “see ya”.

This is the idea of this transition. Come off the red and hit the white about midway up, let the front settle and then turn up.

Well yesterday I was coming onto to white rock deeper/lower than usual and attempting a sharper turn up. The ass end would break loose and the truck would point straight up sliding down off the rock. Give some throttle and go up and over. All 4 just spinning

I’d then attempt deeper yet where the front end would brake loose as soon as it touched the white rock, truck would be really unbalanced and either instantly flop or I could get it settled, feather the throttle a bit, get pointed quasi up and fight gravity.

A lot of fun. Extremely happy that I revisited the OD/UD.

My front driveline binding issue. So now I’m wondering if it’s my tire caster from the chubs. Last year I put on aftermarket chubs that had built in shock mounts. After I put them on, my caster seemed to be way positive compared to stock resulting in a pretty good drive line angle. The only time the driveline is level with the pinion is with the rig fully smashed down.

I’m going to have look into this

Getting her ready to crawl this weekend.

-Added RC4WD steel sliders
-Added APS rear bumper and tow hitch, upside down for more clearance, I might just ditch the hitch
-Swapped front and rear bumper mounts
-Trimmed body for the new added clearance front and rear
-Added leds to the headlights
-Added brass portal covers

Overall extremely happy with the clearance now, the truck looks good, now I’m really considering running a full light kit. Unfortunately the weight is still close to 50/50. I still need to figure out how to get more weight up front. Maybe battery relocation?

Updated bumpers and sliders
