thanks for the props and encouragement! No build thread as of now, I started one but it said something about needing moderator approval??? so I've left it for now.

Pretty excited about this one as I've had the truck for a few years and have never really been happy with the bodies on it.(stock sport body and an FJ40 LWB which was too top heavy):

The wheelbase is currently 313mm (factory sport length) and I previously had the long wheelbase kit on it.

So for a stock trx-4 sport I don't think there's any "conversion" per se, just a willingness to cut the frame, and some gentle persuasion with a hacksaw, sandpaper, and a knife. hoping it works out nicely

Today I gingerly got the hacksaw out and took to the rear of the chassis.

wasn't enough but progress is coming along with this build.

Awesome!!!!

I soooo want to do that to mine and flatbed it.

That would make the departure angle soooooo much better.

I can't claim to have done anything to my TRX-4 lately -- I finished that build in 2017 (omg that was four years ago) -- but a couple weeks ago I did finally have the time and opportunity to drive my TRX-6 in difficult conditions. It high-centered more than I'd like and the front bumper got caught more than I'd like, but overall it did well.

I could probably fix both problems with slightly taller tires, but I don't have any on-hand, and they probably wouldn't clear the body without modifications that I don't want to make.

Just need to grease the gears in the axle. Continue adjusting the throttle curve on the esc. And slap a 4s in it and i got a rocket ship TRX4 Tactical body made its return! (old Picture from when i was living in Ontario)

Took the Sport on my back rock wall. Had a lot of fun and the truck does really well back there.

From this section on is fun. A few different lines getting onto this rock. This One sets you up fairly well for the next rock and another one requires a little Austin Powers action.

Must be a mouse down there as the dog didn’t budge the whole time.

Good time.

LOL.

I got some Injora dual layer foams which are actually rubber + foam. Cool stuff. The outers look like they won't last long but the inners will probably last forever.

Does your current power system power right on through your current slipper setup with it fully locked down? Try locking it down and driving for a couple of days first, if you can't hear it squealing while you're under load climbing rocks and with decent amount of throttle etc that ought to be the equivalent of the slipper eliminator? Someone correct me if there's other advantages, I did realize that adding the slipper eliminator to my 1/8 powered rustler 4x4, had immense improvement in drivetrain stiffness I guess you could say? But in a good way to where more power was going to the ground....

Its just to much slippage with the stock cranked all the way down already. The pads dont look warn out. But i do want to get more power to the ground the Puller Pro 3500kv might just be to much for the stock slipper system.

Stretched the sport to 12.8” and slapped a new body on it.

Body is a Carisma F150, the updated two piece version. It’s a great piece. The grill is detailed, dig the style of the mirrors, and decals are nice. It comes with the side decals for the two tone, although they’re a bit of a yellowish-white.

I ended up using them on the inside as paint masks, and painted in the two tone. Colors are pactra lime ice and tamiya pearl white, both backed with silver.

Don’t expect the mirrors to last long, but they look nice for now. The grill is like 9 or 10 separate pieces (4 are lenses). The bumpers attach to the body itself.

Also, this body can be challenging to find stateside so I’ll throw out there that I ordered from HRP (hobby recreation products). They seem to stock more carisma than most, only took a couple days to arrive.

New inner portals installed, after modifications...to be able to mount-to/keep/use cheapo-depot outer brass housings. Also, new rod ends, due to impatience and lack of running rigs, currently, i only installed the panhard ends, center link ends, and steering link ends ...correct SO much slop ive had for a while now, though, the inner portal-meets-steering center link- is my FIRST "real" breakage in barely over 1 year of TRX4 sport RTR ownership!! I find that epic! As i have broken allll the bashers' parts at least once! Lol!

Put new Traxxas winch on both TRX4 SPORT's..

Traxxas recommended replacement bumper on the left..Traxxas original bumper on the right..
I honestly like the original with the light bar above the winch

Why does traxxas recommend a new bumper? Is it for better fitment of the winch itself? Nice rigs by the way.
