Added front shock keys from IERC to lay the shocks back a bit and lower the front down.

This turned out really well. It lowered the front and added some stability.

Although I feel I went too much. The driveshaft is contacting the front of the skid and there is a ticking noise. So I’ll put them in a more forward position.

I’m pleased with how well the truck did even with the ticking noise.

Here is a quick crappy video.

Adjusted the upper shock mount position. Dropped it down and moved forward 1.

Eliminated the clicking noise, buuuuuuuuut now the front driveshaft is too short. It popped apart a few times and got a neat little bind at the connection also.

I originally had this concern as I wished it was longer. It’s the correct SSD front for the sport model but that’s a stock sport.

Played on my slick granite and actually caught on video the truck sliding on the rocks.

The Landmines hung in there but PL predator compound is better on my rocks.

Another little spotter/critic graced us with her presence tonight as well.

Cat is not sure what’s about to happen next.

ETA - ordered some Predator Trenchers and new SSD front driveshaft for a Trail King.

The Od/ud is wearing on the Pred hyraxes pretty good so I figure some new skins on hand will be good. The Trail King front driveshaft should work well based on the pin to pin measurements.

Added Treal front inner/outer portal covers, lower link mounts and lower shop cups. HUGE improvement on my otherwise bone stock Defender. Looking for beadlocks that are 5lug and would look good on a 1:1 Defender and trying to decide on what tires to buy?

New front driveshaft showed up. Ugh. Too long.

So I put the first SSD in and adjusted the shock mounts more.

Charged up the new Tattu 1550 and away we went.

The Sport is an absolute animal in this type of environment.

My GSpeed flounders in this.

I took the Sport down to my bottom rock wall that bar non has the hardest transition out of all my walls.

28 sec on the video and it’s red rock to white one.

https://youtu.be/5UgLOCjVHPw

I can get that transition maybe 1 outta 5 tries with the Sport the way it’s set up now having a lower ride height. Higher ride height and it’s a lot easier

It was a fun evening. Front driveshaft only popped twice. I’ve got to get that figured out. Too bad MIP’s don’t operate at the same angle SSDs do.

The new Trenchers showed up today also and knowing how well predator compound does on my rocks, these look like they’ll be awesome.

Put the flipped rear bumper mount up front.

Required some trimming so the holes lined up and I had to scallop out a bit for the recovery rope end.

Did a little testing but I am not completely sold on it yet compared to the flipped front.

It helped with some areas but gave me fits in others that have been a non issue before.

I feel that’s from the bump n glide starting
Sooner with the flipped front that fits a little lower.

Oh well. More testing. Darn.

Mail call for my new Blazer, Brass for my f/r diff covers, Control arms and outer cover. Living right by Amazon is too beneficial.

Installed a new light kit, cleaned up wiring and reoiled bearings from my last time I drove through the wet.

Edit: Almost forgot, I also installed the MIP extended axles.

Well, My SSD Assassin wheels I scored off RC Chop Shop showed up along with some PL dual foams and Predator Trenchers.

Beyond stoked to try these Trenchers out on my slick granite. Predator compound does the best out of the box on my rocks.

Absolutely sold on the ease of mounting tires on SSDs. Very easy compared to my GMade Steelies.

Welllllll, I ran into an issue with the hubs. Tightened down the wheels locked the whole works down. So I ordered some new hubs. We will see.

Here’s the SSD hubs followed by the Gmade hubs.

I love the Trencher tread pattern. Reminds me of my Landmines but should do better because of Pred compound. These are going to rock.

So here I am wanting to try something different tire related.

Lightbulb went off to put the GSpeed tires on the TRX4. Pred Hyraxes, Gearhead wheels and softer foams because it’s a 5.5 lb rig.

I had no issues mounting these on the Trx4 so the SSDs are definitely hub related.

They did pretty well! Nothing mind blowing but you can definitely see they are for a lighter rig.

Here’s a Quick video and sorry about the poor quality.

https://youtu.be/cHU2_ZvJWwE

I have a friend sending me a thumbsteer for the GT5, so hopefully video quality will improve.

Amazon showed up. Brass high clearance steering linkage kit. Replaced front and rear bumper mounts with alloy, and a brush guard grill/bumper from amazon that actually fit the blazer just fine. Inorja was the brand off Amazon. Zero issues on the installation. Ordered a new servo as well, from NSDRC. Have a great weekend…whatever is left!
