Clutch slip? If I go towards a wall for instance. Instead of wanting to climb it just spins. Wheels touch the wall so potentially would have grip. Is my clutch too loose? Is there a non spinning kit for this? I only use for crawling. |
Re: Clutch slip? Your slipper clutch probably just needs to be tightened up. See page 8 in the manual linked below to adjust. https://traxxas.com/sites/default/fi...-OM-EN-R03.pdf |
Re: Clutch slip? How old is the transmission? When was the last driveline inspection done? It sounds like you just need to tighten your slipper clutch. To set mine I tighten it all the way down and then loosen it about 1/2 a turn. Lots of people will glue the slipper in place or buy a slipper eliminator kit, but I don't like doing that as having that slipper clutch can save the rest of your driveline components if it's set properly. |

Is it possible you're driving with the diff unlocked? Anyway the clutch should only be slipping when you are really bound up and the wheels are being kept from moving. If it slips any other time the clutch is too loose. |
Re: Clutch slip? Yes sorry, it goes to a wall. No wheels turn and the clutch spins. Only quickly as I then stop. It is a brand new kit build and I was abit wary of how tight I should go. I just needed some confirmation that I may have not tightened it enough or that was what it was supposed to do. I will strip and tighten as QuesoDelDiablo mentioned. Thank you for the link and advice guys "thumbsup" I will strip and redo the clutch. I did not quite understand the manual. "(or until the slipper clutch does not allow the spur gear to slip during normal operation)" I could not spin it by hand (probably could if I really gave it some) but how hard are you ment to try. Tough one to call. So what are my odds of breaking something if I put a slipper eliminator on it? What would break first after the clutch? |
Re: Clutch slip? Just tighten it and back off half a turn. Or tighten it all the way to "eliminate" slip. You can't move it with your fingers if properly tightened. |
Re: Clutch slip? Thank you. I will get on and do that. Probably not a good idea to shift the slip to another part. |
Re: Clutch slip? If you have all hd gear through your drivetrains, Just do me a favour tighten your slipper clutch all way down. Fast and simple:ror: |
