Can I use TRX4 Sport parts to shorten my wheel base?
 

I'd like to use traxxas parts to shorten the wheel base on my trx-4, can you use parts from the sport model>?

One thing I noticed is the where the driveshaft comes together there isn't really any space to spare to get shorter so do you have to replace the side that goes into the tranny as well as the splined piece in the middle?

Yes, you are correct. You can also use the Bronco parts. I'm not positive about using a different center in the driveshaft, but I don't think you need to change it.

I just cut 3mm from each shaft with a dremel. Work just fine. But im sure you can buy the shorter shaft. I ordered a kit with stainless links on eBay, think it was like 20 bucks for all the links on the car.

All I did was replace the rear upper and lower links from the Bronco ($14) Shorten the rear driveshaft and flip the rear shock towers. Easy"thumbsup"

Traxxas makes a kit to go from long to short wheelbase. Traxxas 8058.
