I think there's a thread on it here somewhere... believe it was a positive experience. Looking into this myself, so far the motor mount has been the only let down of the chassis for me. Having quite a few issues with gear mesh on mine. |

I got one not long ago but haven't got around to installing yet. Seems like it will definitely help maintaining gear mesh. The same mount is significantly cheaper sold unbranded on eBay. I paid $23 shipped for mine. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F163199159789 |

I installed mine and it is fine. The best thing about it is that the motor is held solidly so that you can check pinion engagement depth and mesh without the motor mount flopping around. My stock motor and pinion use the same mount holes as they did in the plastic mount. Traxxas should retool their moldings to be like this. A secondary benefit is that your motor is mounted on a big chunk of aluminum so a bit of thermal paste will give you extra cooling. The only thing that I don't like about it is that the screw at the top should be a flange head as it tends to slip off of the rear cover section with the stock screw.

I don't understand all the whining about the stock TRX4 mount, I have four TRX4s now and also maintain a 5th belonging to my neighbor. I have not had any gear mesh problems on any of them.

I thought that the mesh issues were mainly coming from guys switching out the stock pinion. I also haven't had any problems with either of my TRX4's ( stock gearing).

| Re: GRC motor mount I agree Inspector changed to the 9 tooth pinion and having no issues at all. When I remove the cover the motor plate stays in place also so it's easy to check the mesh.
