Default HH 21t sport

Anyone running a HH 21t sport 550 motor in the TRX4? I just got one today and was wondering what pinion you guys are running with it. I really like the wheel speed of the Titan 21t in 2nd gear but was looking for a bit more torque in low gear.

I'd say you could drop 2 teeth and still keep good speed. The HH motor will certainly have more torque to begin with, but dropping teeth will add to it nicely.

I have it. Just not installed yet. With 3S power I’ll probably drop down a couple.

Or for other prospective buyers r just get the 27t with stock gearing. Works a treat.

I switched to the 9t pinion when I had the stock motor in mine. It drops the top speed a couple miles an hour not to much tho. I went with the trail master 27t with 9t pinion. torque for days now but top speed isn't all that fast. Think John Holmes said i with stock motor going from stock 11t pinion to the 9t you lose about 20% of top speed. He also said going from the 21t to the 27t would drop your top speed about 20%. So if mine was 13mph stock. Then now with 27t motor and 9t pinion I'm only getting about 7 or 8 mph top speed. It's a crawler so I'm not worried about top speed. I Love how this set-up is doing in my rig. Hope this helps.

My RPP order just arrived (fast as always) and I realized I ordered the wrong HH motor. I intended to order the 21T but I ordered the 27T by mistake By the time I pay shipping both ways is isn’t worth sending back. From what I’m reading here it doesn’t seem like that big a deal to run the 27T anyway. I can always go up in pinion to compensate for lost speed, but I run everything on 3s anyway.
