Default For those with narrow bumpers...

I just got the proline jeep body for my Trx-4 defender and absolutely love how well it performs. But the stock bumpers look totally out of place.

Looking at alternatives, I notice some narrow bumpers that look as if they don't protect the outer corners of the front body on the defender.

Has anyone been using this style of bumper? Any trouble with damage to the exposed body?

Wertymade or Scalerfab for the scx10 will fit.

SSD bumpers are nice also but I prefer the approach angles & steel construction in the above.

Damage to the Jeep fenders is minimal.

Thanks RayB. I've been looking at scalerfab products. Do you prefer the bumpers for the scx10 instead of the ones made for the Trx-4?

I didn't mind either.

The Scalerfab had a slightly better approach angle than the Wertymade.

The Wertymade is powder coated as the Scalerfab is painted with Rustolium.

I'm using this Hot Racing aluminum one with the stock D110 body. Minimalist design yet strong, protects the corners very adequately, and inexpensive. Also has a skid-plate that you can keep or remove. Dunno if works with the PL JK body or not.

Here are a couple of Wertymade bumpers made for the TRX4.

Thanks all. I ordered a bumper off Amazon that I believe will work with this body. I modded the rear stock bumper and it's much better, but I'm hoping the new front bumper is good enough buts offers more clearance.

I just wanted simple bumpers, so I picked up a set of axial scx10IIs. I'm not 100% happy with the back bumper, but the front is perfect and gives amazing approach angle.

Here's the post with some pics:
What did you do to your TRX-4 today?

I really like that look! Do you have links for the exact ones you used in those photos?

I moved the stock front mount to the back and took the mount that came with the Axial front bumper and modified it to fit the TRX4 frame. I had to raise the front body post up a notch, so the body didn't sit on the bumper.

I really appreciate pointing me in the right direction!

I ended up going to my local hobby shop to see what scx bumpers they had and I ended up picking up the 80125 and it fits great with my rc4wd metal bumper mount (which has round posts).

Looks like I'm going to need some kind of rock guard though! Really exposed down the middle!

The bumper I got from Amazon is a little too big for the jeep body and slightly too narrow on the defender body. But it's very solid and looks like it'll fit my warn 8274 winch on it without trouble.

Do you guys think the front edges are too exposed?

Not as long as you don't hit 'em on anything!

I mean... Yea... They're fairly exposed. Bumper/ stinger looks good though. Nice!

That is a nice looking bumper for the JK body, but with the Defender body IMO you're better off with a full width bumper in order to protect the body corners. This is what I use on my Defender.

Which one is that? I don't mind a "big and heavy" bumper on the defender because it's kind of my tank. I'm trying to build a light performance machine with the Jeep.

It's really fun to mix and match all of these parts!

Right now, I'm going to see if this metal bumper will perform well with the jeep body. It's got better clearance than the stock bumper but sticks out more than the scx10 plastic bumper I've got.

The bumpers for the TRX4 sport are advertised as being 9.75 inches wide. Seems like they are way too wide for the sport body.

Without measuring the bumper on the sport we have here, that sounds way too big - the defender bumper is approx 7.5" wide.
