Default Lc70 build with bronco chassis

Hey everyone!
So I picked up a used bronco trx4, body was pretty scratched up but managed to sell it for 50 bucks. And after getting the truck for 300 made it an awfully good deal.
Nothing aftermarket except a 20kg powerhd servo which I'll be replacing with a spare hv500.
This should be a pretty fast build as I have a comp coming up this month and would like to get it done and so far it seems everything shouldn't take much modifying.
Killer body has released a body mount, battery tray, bumper and sliders for mounting the lc70 to a trx4 chassis.
Just wanted to make a build thread about how easily it all goes together, which I hope it does. Haha.
So far I have some dueces wild foams in the rear and some memory foam in the front.
Fanquish wheels
Rc4wd dirt grabber tires
And today I'll be installing the dinky rc cantilever setup so I don't have to cut my bed. I did put them on the outside for now. The holes don't line up as this kit is for a scx10. But I like the pushrod to be pushing in the same spot as the shock was to keep that stability.
Also had a hitch reciever laying around that I put on not sure if it will work because I don't have the body yet but we shall see.
Sorry for the mess in the middle of moving.
Cant wait for the body to show up.

Looking forward to see how this turns out. My son’s thinking of doing the same thing to his.

there is also another possibility ..... and remember you still need space for the lipo, so you can not make so deep the body, what a bumber you want to do in front ??

I ordered a bumper from killer body arb lc70 bumper specific for the trx4 conversion. Also they sell a battery tray for the conversion as well, which I also ordered. We shall see.

Also having the shocks lean forward makes them act less on the axle. I've done that on my last build and I'm not a huge fan of it.

@Evo93 you will need a bit more space that the tires will not come to the bumber, I have 110mm tires and that will be tight,

110mm is 4.3in
My tires are 3.8in maybe 3.9 with the large foams

Well so far I've had a few disappointments with being in such a rush. I painted outside. And it got super humid and made my paint all like a flat blue. And it seems to come off super easy. I'm just going to rock it through its first comp and get the beating out of the way before I repaint. Already scratched from assembly. Lol. Anyway. The mounts for the trx4 lc70 conversion seem to be more aimed towards someone with big tires. So I need to get it lower on the frame and drop the suspension. Also need to order some .180 hubs from locked up rc to make the wheels suck in enough for class 1.
The lc70 trx4 battery tray is also cheasy. I cut up my last stock tray for a custom one in another build that worked better than the one I bought. But we shall see, the cross race the tray bolts to couldn't be bolted in because of the cantilever shock setup on the rig. So it's just kind of sitting in the rails. Good enough to hold a battery. But I could lose it all and lower the battery with the mod on my other trx4. So I will have to see how it fits with a battery.
Also, I hate the way the body fits onto the sliders they make for the trx4 conversion. It is a pain and I cant imagine putting the body on and off of it everytime. No way lol. But anyway. I'm going to modify it and take more pictures of what I'm going to do to it. But basically need to drop the body 3/8s of an inch and probably just make the suspension droop some more. Might use some zero preload shock cups I have from dlux for my moa to get it to sit lower.

These bodies sure do take a lot of assembly. My first hardbody with as many pieces as my truck beforehand.

Also forgot to mention. I think I need to extend my wheelbase by a quarter inch or so. Does not line up the way I'd hoped.

Hey guys sorry for the lack of updating. Been super busy at my new job and at home. And we moved! Dad life. Well today I'm sick. So figured I'd take this time to show the little progress I've made. Our comp was postponed till next weekend so I still have some time lol.
I ditched the front body mount kept the rear but with only one bolt on each side so it works as a hinge. And attached magnets to the stock body posts. But i need to make a new hinge to also get the body a little lower.
Also ditched the crappy battery tray from killer body. A modified version of the stock tray, trimmed down works better but I'm going too low to have a battery back there. I'm going to run a small pack on the battery tray up front.
Ordered some max back space wheels from motoworx racing to pull the track width in and I'm going to stuff my 4.19 mtzs on it. Pretty sure it wont rub much once the tires have less scrub. And if they do. I don't really care lol. Also going to have to make or order some custom sliders. The ones from killer body for the conversion fit like crap. These fit like crap. They'll get me by till I get everything worked out. I guess the lesson here is just buy a body and work out how you want to mount it yourself. If I had kept that front mount. It would taken 8 screws everytime I wanted to take the body off and the bumper would've been off at that point too. Body would've sat too high. Lame. Rc4wd winch doesnt even really fit right in the bumper. Had to run spacers because it hits the bumper mounts for the trx4.
The body itself is awesome. And the bumper. But the mounting hardware is all a joke.
And I'm the type to drive my tiny trucks. Hard lol.

Hey everyone. So she's a runner!
I threw in overdrive and underdrive. I've always liked having that in my rigs

I also had a lot of filing to do on the portals to suck them in all the way in. It measures exactly the right amount of tire coverage for class 1.
The dinky shocks needed some serious stiffening so I threw some 2000w diff oil in them and I'm very pleased with the outcome. Much smoother ride.
I also used some softer memory foams, out of proline tires, for the front foams. And single stage novas for a 3.8-4.19 tire, in the rear. Just soft enough.
Slapped some sliders I had made from scalerfab for a different rig that had been the wrong size and the was almost perfect. Way better than what I had anyway. Haha
Threw some zip ties on my rats nest of wires and headed to the comp!
Truck ran really well. Need to get used to the longer wheelbase again. A lot different than my class 2 which is only 11 inches.
That and I will probably bob that long ass bed, and suck the bumper in.
Had a killer day and placed 3rd in class 1. Got a bunch of goodies in the raffle.

Thanks for reading!

Thats a nice tiny truck! Ive been readin up on the regs for comp. Wasnt plannin on runnin in one, but the more i go out the more i think how fun it would be. Just a few things to do to it to make it legal for class 2, then find a comp close by lol

Anywhere I've been will make exceptions and small penalties for those that dont quite make the cut just to get new people into the hobby even if your truck isn't legal they will still let you run and have fun.

Nice build! I just put together the LC70 kit, bought the accessories for the TRX-4 but now I am stuck on the shock mount....Would you recommend that Dinky RC kit for this build? And did you have to make any modifications to get the dinky kit to work?

Rise from the dead ye old thread.

Nice build I have also started work on a TF2 LC70 build and also went with a Killer front arb bumper. Did you end up sticking with the RC4wd winch or swapping to something else? I have been looking at a few others that have stronger line pull. the RC4wd seems a little weak.
