Default Trx 4 chopped

I bought my trx 4 5 months ago now. When I bought it the previous owner had already performed a body chop. The only problem is that he had only out a piece of leather on-top of the body. I would like it if anyone knows any pieces of advice I could use to make it look better. Thanks

Personally I'd ditch the leather and either cut a piece of aluminum to fit or a piece of heavier styrene plastic. Check out animalhippie's trx build I think I remember he did plastic and then aluminum.

Whoa they whacked that bed off there low. I might have an idea to make that a little higher if you'd like. I used thin aluminum sheet metal. It was allot lighter then the plastic I first used. I can take some more detailed pics if you need them just let me know.

Take the rear tire carrier off and the piece of leather. Then pull off the body and take a few inside and outside pics. Can you tell what they used for glue on the rear of the cab?

Also if you use tapatalk you can upload the pics directly to your thread

Sorry I don't know what glue they used. But they also glued the leather on to the body. When I get home I'll cut it all off and take some photos. Sorry I'm in Australia so I'm at school now.

Here's a few photos I've got of it at the moment. Tell me if they're good enough or not.

We can work with that brotha. Only worry is the adhesive that they used for the cab. If it's rubbery you're good. Cut the leather close to the body don't cut the body. Take some pics and check that adhesive. I can see some in the one pic. Looks like it's hot glue, shoe goo or something of the sorts. Good luck! Stay in school!

I've taken the leather off. It looks like it was on with some rubbery putty I've never seen before. As you can see the body is cut very low, which is why I needed help because I'm all out of ideas. I've added some photos of what they used to put the cab on. Looks like some sticky foam. Shouldn't be too hard to take off.
Thanks for the help.

That's awesome bro. So glad that they didn't do some kind of glue. Shows how much they were really hacking it. You'll need to get a tube of E6000, some drywall mesh/screen type material & some 1/2"ish size neodymium magnets atleast 12 of them. That will be for fixing the cab. I'll look at my rig when I get home to figure out the best way to go with the bed. Once you have those few things I'll walk you through the process. You can see what I did in my build thread, but there's a few things I would do a little different now that I've done it.
