Default Cheap light kit for Defender not working as intended

Hello, just bought the classic 20$ kit for the defender that you can find on Amazon/Banggood/AliExpress,

works as intended when I connect it to a ccpm servo tester, but when I hook it up to the actual receiver with the included Y cables the indicators blink randomly, the reverse light stays always on and the stop lights don't work, doesn't seem to be getting the signal from channel 2 and a dirt signal from channel one. Tried recalibrating the esc, changing drive mode, turning off Tsm, switching y cables, all with no luck. Everything on the board is connected correctly, anyone knows what's wrong?

Thanks

Sounds like a problem with power supply or loose plugs to me.

You have 6V max, i.e. stock ESC and Servos?

Tried another set of Y cables? They're pretty thin and should be replaced anyway.

The servo tester puts out 5 or 6V? Try one that has the same as the system, maybe there's a bad solderjoint on that $1 board and it just overvolts.

Everything stock, the servo tester is connected to four AA batteries but works the same also with three, using the same Y cables.

Do you have another RC system to try, preferably not Traxxas?
I have tried the thing in my Defender, but thrown it out because of weird functions. But it did work as intended, i just didn't like it.
My guess is your main board is broken, but maybe someone else has another idea.

No other RC, just the one Defender.

I bought the same kit, but never fitted it. It's destined for the dustbin.

Bought another one from the Injora Aliexpress store, this one is the original one and works, the other one was a knockoff.

Could you elaborate how they were different?
Or is it just the software?

They look the same, but you can tell that one is a knockoff of the other: "MODE." instead of "MODEL", wrong code on the back of the little pcbs, bad soldering, different fonts, etc.

Ah ok.
Mine says Model, so i got an "Original", cost just 15 Euros for complete Set (without Rock lights and Lightbar), but still unusable.
