So...today the adventure begins.

Ok I lied...shits been rolling in like a own one of Kim Jong Un's nuclear test sites. But today the actual Bronco finally made it!

Tuesday looks like as good a day as any to start my build thread, as I do what I can to avoid the dreaded "honey do" list.

Did I mention my wife's out of town the first week of every month. Bet you can guess the days I set aside for new parts arrival! (If you can't guess...then you suck at guessing.)

I will have to move to the trusty iPhone since I've yet to figure out how to post pics from my PC.

What hosting site does everyone use for pictures???

Cue the suspenseful background music ...

Suggestion for Traxxas...if you want everyone to read the card attached to the battery hook up on the chassis...either A. Include a magnifying glass, or B. make said card MUCH BIGGER so us old farts can read it.

To start I hooked up the charger and immediately put the 2S lipo on charge. yes I started with a 2s 5,800. I have a 4 yr. old...he LOVES RC's...and I see a lot of in the yard training in my near future.

So what to do while I wait for this to charge...hmm...I KNOW...grab the body reamer and lets punch some holes in this thing! Spare tire carrier done. Front brush guard...check. Drop hitch from Yeah...boom...done.

Does anyone know what the two centerline body ream indention's are on the roof? No factory roof rack for this to my knowledge...odd.

Ok stop screwing around Old School and let's tackle something more challenging...like the light kit! Awe yeah shit's about to get real. My ADD is in high gear as I struggle to stay engaged in these "guidlines"...ok directions...but you know the feeling right?

Did you get the Traxxas 2247X Metal servo horn for that servo? Your gonna need it!! And be sure to set the end points too. I run 80% on the steering sensitivity using the phone app. That servo will bend frames given the chance!
Have fun!

Nice! The TRX-4 is so fun! If I were you I'd suggest returning those Chinese tires and getting something good. Or just stick with the stockers for now.

Agreed Jato, but! *note...Old School has 4 yr. old son who's notoriously hard on toys...so...Chinese bashing tires! Did I mention his favorite thing to do is doughnuts on his Old School Supercharged 24 volt Power Wheels with twin Titan 775's? Yes...I have a problem...or so the Mrs. says.

That I did...as I stare out the window wondering when TF it will get here! In fact truth be told I got so tired of waiting on good ole' Hobby Town to ship it (back order much?) that I ordered an RC Crawler 25T for overnight delivery. Should be here at some point...(it better be )

So this is the life of a bachelor...ahhh the memories! (Ok so its only for one week a month...but hey...it’s better than nothing!)

So can anyone explain to me how Amazon can afford to over night a $10 part from China for $4? Holy shit that’s amazing!

Some good 2 stage foams in those stock tires and cut them like i did. Amazing! I love mine! They climb just as good as my hyrax. I will buy another set of trail canyons in the future.

They're taking advantage of and gaming the system. They're getting subsidized postal rates for poorer countries when they no longer should be classified as such.

Agreed! I am very surprised by just how refined it is...all the unboxing videos don’t do it justice...it is so well thought out it’s scary.

Thanks man I appreciate it. Now I get why people make the simulated rusty bodies and make them look all beat and worn...I’m hesitant to beat on this body it’s so damn sexy. Lol I’m already anxiously looking for a “beater body”.

Default Old School's TRX-4 adventure begins!

Ok update time! Got the new steering servo in...it’s a monster. Added bonus...since I used a traxxas servo it has a long harness and no jumper needed.

Put a little test drive in and wow night and day! Installed the 2.2 tires and really liked the look, but they rub the suspension on tight turns...guess I’ll have to buy a Cragsman next so these tires aren’t wasted.

For some reason the iLink did yet another firmware update today...actually 2...and did 2 yesterday as well...must have a Microsoft OS. lol

Ordered some more new goodies today so stay tuned...my plan is to be on a first name basis with the UPS driver by Christmas!

I’m off to a good start...

Hope you all are enjoying your hump day...I think I’m going to go scout some rocks and avoid responsibilities like a boss.

Gonna start a thread?! You can’t just leave it stock...that’s against company policy. I don’t wanna have to write you up.

lol

I’m going to start working on it pretty soon. (Finally scratched it, if that counts) Gotta get the wraith buttoned up first.
