Injora hard body on TRX-4 kit

Hi,
im new to crawlers and just finished my TRX4 kit.
I already screwed up by ordering a Proline 12.8 (324) body, assuming the kit would have the same wheelbase as the other TRX4 versions.

I suppose i could fix it by installing the converstion kit TRX-8057 to get to the required 12.8 inch. But on the other hand, now all 12.3" bodies have become an option. The one i'd like to get is an Injora Wrangler Rubicon hard body as a kit.

The only places i found these are Amazon and aliexpress.

So has anyone used one of these on a TRX4 or TRX4 kit?
How hard would it be to install this?

It's a hair wider then the stock body. Same width as tires outside to outside. I don't see why it wouldn't work. Only reason i would just do the longer wb is because you have the lexan body already and if you're hard on the body like i am you'll be getting another one before too long. Just my .02 That hard body looks good tho and at $100 not to bad with full interior. Good luck! Look forward to seeing your build!

Olafk, My roommate and I are both in the middle of building our kits. You are in luck, he bought the same Injora body in red to match our 1:1s. He ordered from Ebay and it took roughly 4 weeks from China to USA - ouch. It finally arrived on Tuesday of this week. We fiddled around with it the past two nights and I think it will work, but unless you want to hack up the interior a ton, then a Bowhouse LCG battery tray looks to be required. Vertical offset bumper mounts might also be needed if the body can't be brought down low enough. I can grab a couple pictures tomorrow with the body on my kit (which has a bowhouse LCG tray) to give you an idea of what it looks like pre-surgery.

There's about 0.5" to 1" gap from the bottom edge of the body to the frame/bumper mounts. The inner fenders will definitely need to be trimmed, possibly removed? He bought the Defender shock mounts for now to bypass inner fenders since the bottom of the body is sealed from the interior; there's no reason to run them except to complete the scale look of having inner fenders. The side trays where the ESC and RX mount will also need a trim since the Injora body mimics the JK's bowed sides. This is most noticeable towards the front of the trays where the trim will need to bring the outside edge in towards the frame.

thnx Manimal,
great info. I went ahead and ordered it yesterday. So that gives me 4 weeks to get some preparations done. ;-)

Would love to see some pics of how you get that body fitted.

Olafk, I haven't forgotten about my promise; my roommate took his TRX-4 with him while he went to visit his family over the holidays. I can tell you however that the hardbody looks killer on his rig. I will snag some pictures tomorrow...

What's the best way to host photos? Do you have to be a paid member to host here (sorry, I usually lurk)?
