Default Running the sliders on the sport or not?

Just curious to see if Sport owners are running the plastic, outrigger sliders on their rigs or not? I have not had the chance to run mine enough yet to determine if they're a benefit or detriment on this rig. I run sliders on my other rigs, but it seems like these hang way out their off the plastic "rocker area" where the electronics mount.

I'm debating removing them and cutting about 1/4" off the bottom of the stock body for more clearance.

I've run the heck out of mine, and you need something to protect the body...I'm redoing my sport and making new sliders up flush with the electronics side trays.....

I just don't care for how far out they sit, and that they're a bit low. As far as the body, my plan was to trim it down along the rocker line to sit flush with the electronics "trays".

IDK, I may do the same as you and make something that sits more flush. Although doing that, the body will still need to be trimmed as it hangs a good bit lower.

I recommend you drive it for a while before making any decisions on whether to modify or remove them. Mine are all scratched and gouged up on the bottom from rocks but the bodies are undamaged. The sliders have never been a point of hang up on any of my 5 TRX4s. It seems to me that they are doing exactly what they were designed to do.

I’m still running them on my sport. Although I tucked them in further and am using the 4Runner body. I like them as they look like running boards.

Thanks for the info guys. Inspector86 - that was kinda my thought. Weather has been kinda crappy here so have not been able to run the rig too much. So, i’m left staring at it and wondering what I should fetter with!

My 1080ESC showed up though so i’ll be getting in to that this week. Can’t wait to see of the new spur/pinion combo and locker work too.

I spaced mine up exactly one traxxas ball end and trimmed from there. Now they sit slightly lower than the electronics tray.

I trimmed 1/4" or so of the tray off on each side, then modded the slots on the sliders. They are inboard about 3/8" more on each side👍

I run GRC Sliders.
They dont stick out near as far and they look flush with the body.
