Good source for TRX-4 brass Just finishing assembly (waiting for replacement 8294 gear) of TRX-4 kit with a sport body. Really nice kit. Would like some supplier recommendations for brass portal covers. I have been looking on EBAY and I noticed some negative feedback on the Chinese suppliers. Thanks |

Re: Good source for TRX-4 brass I like SSD because they hide the fugly brass color with a sweet, almost black chrome finish. They also have great products and great customer service. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/890/3...a5776472_b.jpg |
Re: Good source for TRX-4 brass I also have the SSD version. Great product. Fair price. |

Re: Good source for TRX-4 brass STRC has the brass covered with black. Look very nice, fit very nice. Available from many retailers. Also, If you buy brass colored parts, but want them to be black, you can buy Brass Black by Birchwood Casey for $10 on Amazon. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk |
Re: Good source for TRX-4 brass I just installed the steel bits from Locked Up RC and I couldn’t be happier. Heavy, great quality, stronger than brass, and don’t need to paint them! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a77f2b655d.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...8f10994fc6.jpg |
Re: Good source for TRX-4 brass I went with ebay Steering Knuckle and Portal Cover. I went with Xtra Speed Aluminum Front C Hub. They bolted well together but I noticed it was rubbing when I turned the wheels right/left. I had to modify to get it to turn smoothly. Bottom line, if I had to do it over again I would go with a reputable brand for everything and I would stick to the same brand so they work well together. |
Re: Good source for TRX-4 brass I've got brass MFR's on the Bronco and black steel LURC's on the Defender. Love 'em both. Would absolutely recommend either. Initially thought I'd paint the brass black but I like the look of 'em thru the wheels. Re: Good source for TRX-4 brass Thanks to all of you guys for your reply's. This site is a great resource for people getting into the hobby Will be ordering portal covers this week. Just received and installed my replacement gear from Traxxas. Installed the narrow inner fenders to fit my TRX-4 Sport body and discovered I need to order the Sport body mounts and bumpers. Should be running by this weekend. |
Re: Good source for TRX-4 brass 3 Attachment(s) I bought the Samix black brass for the front and rear. It has a good fit and finish and they come with the brake rotors. It added a ton of weight up front. |
Re: Good source for TRX-4 brass Great pics B-MOW71! I love the Samix, and considering going with that brass front and rear for my Sunset Bronco. Does anybody know if there is any rubbing issues if I use it for my stock Bronco? |
Re: Good source for TRX-4 brass the portal covers help with weight and for strength? Im new to the trx4 and didnt know if the alloy covers did more then just provide weight (ie help reduce flex causing gear issues etc) |
Re: Good source for TRX-4 brass The covers add weight down low. I don't think that there is a strength issue with the stock plastic parts. |
