| My new rig, and had my first scare
Went to South Carolina last week on vacation, and while there, checked out the Beach RC shop. Ended up walking out with a new Bronco Problem was, all my batteries were back home in New Hampshire, so had to wait til I got home to drive it. I'm new to the crawler scene, but having driven a friend's rig, I knew I had to have one. The Bronco exceeded all my expectations, even though I got hung up on the bumpers and the dang trailer hitch mount a lot... Last Sunday, my buddy came over with his 2 rigs, and we had a blast! Along towards evening, my steering went all wonky. Having read about the stock 2075x servo being a weak link in the TRX4's, I figured I had broken mine. I replaced it with a slightly stronger Savox on Monday, but within 20 minutes, my steering went all wonky again That night, I ordered a couple beefier servos. Today, I got my first accessory item for the Bronco, so after installing it, I decided to look into the servo issue. Just before tossing the stock servo, I noticed that while moving the steering arm (and feeling the stripped gears), I noticed that while the arm moved, the servo mechanism did not. Hmmm, could it be? Why yes, it was the steering arm that was stripped, not any of the servo gears. Whoo-hooo!!. A new steering arm, and I'm back up and running!! And run I did, until I couldn't see in the dark anymore... Word of advice...check the dang screw that holds the steering arm... Got lots of accessories planned in the future. Stuff like new bumpers, winch, roof rack, rear window guards, lights, yadda yadda. Anywho, here's the 1st accessory mounted... |

I will never pull a trailer so I just cut the hitch receiver off my rear bumper and installed a front bumper mount in the rear and flipped the front bummer mount. That was all before I replaced my bumpers. Have fun with your new rig!

I had a similar experience, the steering servo horn was the first failure on my RTR Ascender too. I'm happy to hear you are loving your new Bronco. It's definitely a cool rig. |

Great for you. It's a great choice. My boy has the bronco and he loves it.he did the same as you, he striped out his stock plastic horn just recently as well. Hope you put a metal one on at least. Have fun with the new truck.

I replaced the stock servo on my K5 TRX-4 before I even ran it. On the first run I stripped the stock servo arm. I replaced it with the Traxxas metal servo arm and no issues. What did you replace the stock stripped arm with?

Been busy playing, but had some time to add a couple things. Got a roof rack on it, kinda small, but it'll do. Also got the KYX bumper/winch kit along with a brass bumper mount. The bumper mount allowed me to mount the winch behind the grill. I did cut out the area behind the grill so one could see thru and see the winch. I also mounted a brass tube on the bumper so the cable would go under the grill. I know, not exactly scale, but doing so meant I didn't have to have the bumper so far out front. As is, it gets hung up more often than the stock bumper. Oh well, still looks cool |
