| Front motor mount
Has anyone got the front motor conversion for the trx-4. What is the point and what's the good and bad with them. Also how hard was it to put in. Thanks everyone Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk |

Interesting, I never thought to look for one of these since the motor already has a front orientation. Is that what you’re referring to? https://www.asiatees.com/article?GRC...s-TRX4&id=3240 Doesn’t look like it’d be too crazy to install but it would take some time. |

The point will be to shift the motor and battery forward for better front weight bias. :-)

interesting upgrade. But it seems that a new servo mount is also needed?

It looks like it comes with the servo mount and eveything. While moving the motor forward it also moves it higher up in the chassis. It may help with inclines but will also likely hurt sidehilling. The idea of having to flip the servo around isn’t too appealing, I think I remember someone here having problems with doing that. IMO there’s better ways to spend $90 on the truck than this but I’d certainly like to hear from someone that has it. Maybe use it in a scratch build instead of buying the stock trans. |

I agree Danza. I don’t see enough of a benefit to spend the $90 on the part and the time to install. Not to mention, screwing with servo relocation and panhard. I also seem to remember someone doing this and having fits trying to get the panhard and steering working well.

i was looking at the very same kit and thought maybe the hpi venture trans and t case might work with some fabrication. so Im just waiting on it now to arrive next week. im piecing my trx4 together from parts. so far im only in it for 100 dollars and just need some sport axles to come up on ebay and i can get the ball rolling

Over complicated answer to a question that nobody asked. While I enjoy the hell out of my trx4 it is not nor will it ever be crazy capable without tossing everything but the axles. The whole of the rig is too bulky and has too much mass. If you want to make it capable do this instead. All the money wasted on trinkets trying to band aid the stock chassis could go toward a whole new setup that is solid. |
