Got the light kit installed tonight...I like the looks but the kit seems cheap...fender kit installed...spare tire and mirrors...digging the body...paint scheme is growing on me as well

I know my corners got a little sloppy...darn tape didn’t seal it up tight...I’ll probably touch it up...I was thinking of putting a clear coat on the inside..are you saying to clear coat the outside of the camper?

Those lights look good, I like the scheme too. Have you considered a flat clear coat on the camper like you have on the wheel wells?

Snorkel and tire mount look cool too.

Agree with PD, and you can touch up your corners with black first. It's lookin' good.

Looks great! Love the lights. Is this a Traxxas light kit? I bought my son a sport for Xmas and would like to add lights to his.

Yes. With tamiya ps55. Be sure to mask off the windows and the rest of the outside of the body then you can touch up the black, on the outside as well, and then cover it all with the matte clear.

I’ve had the same problems with those types of edges. The green Frog Tape has given me the best edges so far.

For reference, here’s a vs4-10 I did the whole body in matte, including the black topper but that’s about how it’d come out for you.

Yep, that's what I would do. Mask off the topper on the outside. You can touch-up the black corners on the outside before you dull-coat it. That will knock the shine down on the topper and make it look more "removable". But you'll have to mask the windows if you want to keep them clear. Just a suggestion. And I usually shoot white inside the color coat, to keep it bright, then black inside that. Again, just my opinion, I'm certainly no expert.

I appreciate all the feedback! Like I said before it was my first paint job and it’s all painted from the inside...if I could touch up those corners from the outside that would be great...I like the matte clear to create a different look for the topper and will definitely be doing it.....I’ve been getting all the big stuff done on it, tomorrow I’ll be working on the little things..I put a Holmes hobby 550 motor in it along with the shv 500 servo...I’m waiting on a y connector so I can run both lights and steering servo off the stock jst connector...

Can’t wait to see what other people do with this body...got it taped up and started hitting some spots...

Took a quick snow pic...cleaned it up a bit..finished painting the inside...still have to work on the camper

Yeah, the dull-coat should pretty well hide any touch-ups you do on the outside, and it should give you a nice finished look. You're doin' good so far, my first "paint-from-the-inside" body was a disaster. We all learn as we go. That color scheme is growing on me too. Keep us updated as you go.
Oh, and a second on the Frog tape .... GOOD stuff! You're gonna like that new motor too, Holmes Hobbies makes an awesome product.
