How is this a step backwards? It's perfect. The G Wagen is one of the few vehicles that actually is offered with portal axles. It's a perfect fit for the TRX4 platform.

The body, wheels, and tires are quite poorly done compared to the other TRX-4 models, especially the lack of bumper/grille details. Hey, it's just an opinion...

BTW - the Defender was built in a portal-axle equipped version known as the Rhino 130.

This body almost looks like the other G-Wagon body that's been spotted a few times on other trucks. I wonder if it's the same body, and Traxxas just used it.

Honestly IMO, my HoBao DC1 body looks way better than this body.

Yep, I posted it in this already - in this section no less.

This body looks like a prototype to me and not necessarily the final thing. The details are kinda vague and that's not like Traxxas. But it might just be the horrible paint job.

The highlighter color definitely doesn’t help.

I actually like some of the details of the body and saw it as a step forward, like the tail light lenses. Multi piece side trim. 3d side markers. Exhaust tips. Mirrors look nice. This one is just so ugly with that color though IMO. It’s so hard to see anything than a fluorescent yellow box.

The tires may fill a niche for the trx4 as I know there people out there that use these more as a basher. I kind of think of it as an all season suv tire so perhaps it will do better at speed than a crawler tire. Seeing a g wagon with a good paint job on a rex with shocks that are fully compressed/full droop may be kind of cool.

The inset headlights and molded grill really caught my eye. It's just that some of the body lines seem to vague instead of distinct.

I'm not the biggest G-Wagon fan, but I'm sure it will look good when painted up nicely.

That g wagon is the most hideous thing I've ever seen....Kill it, kill it now.

Traxxas needs to come out with a beefy sensored brushless crawler motor/esc combo.

Same here. The thought of masking those headlights and that grill to make it not all one color gave me anxiety. Might need to learn how to use liquid mask before ever trying to paint this thing.

I did not know that! Thanks for the information. I don't know a whole lot about Defenders, since they are not a common off road platform in Canada / USA.

I think the color and the blackout windows really make it worse than it is. Like to see a pic of it with clear windows, fenders painted black and a nice color on it than that lime green ugh

Wheels look too big and the body too narrow. Awful. Like the tracks though.

Interesting to see new bodies and I'm all for new bodies but that one just doesn't do it for me, maybe it's the color or the wheels or the combination. Maybe done up more like a scaler we are all accustomed to, just maybe.

Yea because traxxas needed another big heavy body to make the trx4 flop over.

The Nuremberg toy show.
Traxxas got ripped by y’all when they showed the original defender there. Some of the better comments related to the 3D printed prototype parts that were leaked out in the pictures. But if I remember the parts were mysteriously different and finished when it actually hit the shelves. Almost worse than bookface...

Gosh, that "highlighter" is hard to look at. But the creative painters here can fix that easily enough. And c'mon, tires and wheels are some of the first things changed anyway. Those wheels and that color make it look like a Hot Wheel car. But it has potential.

I sure hope so - tho' I got zero desire for a Beverly Hills SUV body on my TRX-er...

I've never liked the Gelandewagen - it's self-consciously boxy, faux-military, just like the Hummer H2 and H3.

Throwing those mall-crawl low-profile tires on there may be perfect for a "certain" customer niche - it's just a shame that there's such a well engineered chassis hiding underneath!

Somebody was bound to duplicate post it so it might as well be you.

I like the militarian look of the Hummer, but I don't get that vibe from the G-Wagon despite it being incredibly capable. I think it's the Skankdashians and other mall rats that ruined it for me. I used to like them.
